any way to eliminate the manual edits and make this a full plugin?

I second that. My members love this add-on but the template updates with each new vBulletin release are a pain.

River_rush 09-29-2008 11:13 AM

if you install and use the template modification system its only a minor irritation

apiasto 09-29-2008 10:53 PM

don't worry i got it ,was another hack.

skywalker2208 09-30-2008 01:41 AM

I would install this because I like the idea, but after I downloaded the file and saw how many edits there were I said forget it. Once that changes I will install it.

Thanks though.

Yes, me too.

Thanks anyway

I've been using this hack since 3.6 and now with 3.7.3 and always worked fine.

Ok, editing templates suck a little when an upgrade comes but I've got used to, so it's not a big deal. In fact, editing templates hacks it's easier to make them run when you have other hacks that use same templates, automatic ones always have some conflicts to each other.

That's my opnion.

tobybird 10-05-2008 08:33 PM

No worries with the editing on my part as well. Thanks for the mod. :)

ComputerVitals 10-09-2008 02:12 PM

IN the editor box, I am missing the button. I have it on one theme but on another I dont. Where do O go to change this?

john102774 10-15-2008 09:41 PM

Reserved, not yet installed.

MSSN 10-17-2008 02:15 PM

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I am just not able to get this to work. I had the previous version and it worked fine.

ETA: Nevermind, after taking a break and coming back to it I got it all figured out.

griffinzx10 11-11-2008 06:01 PM

what is the difference btwn 1.0.5 and 1.0.6?

If we have 1.0.5 installed and then need to upgrade to 1.0.6 what changes need to be made, or does there have to be a complete reinstall?

My issue is i dont get the save button when updating my smilies...

griffinzx10 11-13-2008 12:33 PM

bump

griffinzx10 11-13-2008 01:06 PM

ok i just did a fresh install of this hack, going exactly by the directions, BUT there once installed everything seems fine till you try to SAVE your fav smilies.

There is NO save button... Can someone please advise?

Christinichka 11-16-2008 08:53 PM

I am feeling really dumb but how do I find the user cp shell so I can edit it?

Christinichka 11-16-2008 08:54 PM

nevermind I found it =)

griffinzx10 11-17-2008 06:19 PM

Just realized that when i click on the fav smilies in my USERCP, and the page comes up with all my smilies to choose from, i can choose the ones that i want, and then at the bottom of the page is a blank box. If I type SAVE in that box, and hit enter, it saves.

is there anyway to fix this, with an actual SAVE buttom so people dont get confused without seeing a NICE PURTY BUTTOM?

Brother Malachi 11-20-2008 07:32 AM

Just wondering if this mod would work with https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178327

Are you using the default vbulletin style? The mistake is most likely from a custom skin.

ShawneyJ 11-26-2008 10:39 AM

amazing thx. works great with 3.8.x

nooofe 11-26-2008 10:57 AM

thanks

slinkyman 01-11-2009 04:13 PM

Any chance of this coming to 3.8? It seems to not work with the new version :(

I never edited the functions_editor file. Now it works! :)

Manic Mechanic 01-21-2009 03:07 AM

This works good in the reply/post edit boxes. My problem is in my chat box https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...&page=49#posts it doesn't work. Seems like the chat box looks in a different area. Any changes done in acp work in chat but any changes from ucp do nothing to chat smileys.

Manic Mechanic 01-23-2009 01:55 AM

Is this mod not supported on here? I have yet to see anyone get an answer.

Same here!
I just upgraded to 3.8, edited the files and it worked.
Today I upgraded to 3.8.1 and all the smilies were gone. I edited the functions_editor.php file twice and no smilies. Once I put the unedited file back, the smilies were back and the mod working perfectly. Go figure! LOL

I wish I could help you, but I don't have any smilies in the chat box.

Pamela 02-08-2009 09:04 PM

Can anyone please help me? I'm almost there!

No matter what I do, I can't get the selected smilies to show up in my smilies box. I see the yellow star...I get the list of smilies to chose from (and can make and save my selections)...BUT nothing changes in my smilies box. When I click on the yellow star again, the selctions are still marked as saved...but nothing changes in my smilies box (just the same old ones showing as before) .

I have redone the steps over and over again and can't get it to work. I have even tried disabling all other modifications to see if one of other mods were interfering with it...and nothing! Please help!

This happened to me also, but I can't remember what I did to correct it! :erm: I remember deleting all of them, saving and going back to save again. What about rebuilding the styles in Update Counters.

davit1979 02-15-2009 07:29 PM

I can get the damn thing to work on 3.8.1 no matter what I do!

I just tried that and it still doesn't work. Thank you for trying to help though.

If you ever remember what you did (or if anyone else can help!), I'd sure appreciate it if you could let me know. Thanks!

Leo Brazil 02-17-2009 10:24 AM

Guys, have you try this after installation?

- In the AdminCP, go to 'Usergroup' -> 'Usergroup Manager' and click 'Go' to edit any of the usergroups (saving is not necessary, going to the page is all that's required).

- Confirm and set (if necessary) some extra options in 'vBulletin Options' -> 'Message Posting Interface Options'.

I hope this can help you.

This was Released: 29 Sep 2008 and is listed as being supported, yet the author has yet to answer any questions about it. Am I confused about what supported means?

Spada_FMC 02-18-2009 05:34 AM

Does anybody know how to make this work in the "Quick Reply" box on 3.8? I seem to be having a conflict and am unable to have ANY smilies there with this mod installed.

Thank you :)

Leo Brazil 02-18-2009 11:29 AM

Spada, I've been using this mod since 3.6.8 without any problems with Smiles in Quick Reply but I've been using another mod too that seems to make the difference for what you report.
It's a simple mod for 3.6 and works good on 3.7 and 3.8 - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...hlight=smilies

I don't know but may be can help you.
