3.7 Email Alerts Help
I have searched and cannot find how to setup where every post that a users makes will send out an email to ALL forum users to let them know there is a new post.
Can someone help me with this? |
This is an option each member who wants to be informed need to turn on by subscribing to the forum.
|
I have changed this to auto subscribe. it is still not working. I don't think it auto subscribes everyone automatically.
|
Where did you change this?
|
vbulliten options, user registration options, Automatic Thread Subscription Mode, instant email notifications.
Then I went to maintenance, execute sql query, instant email notification. |
The first will only set it as default for new regstrations, the second will set it for all current users.
A user should not get a notification when a new post is made in a thread they started or have posted in themself. |
how do i set for all users to get notification of any additional post.
I only have 90 members and need them to all be notified of new posts |
Can anyone please assist me?
|
What more do you need assistence with?
|
Is there any reason why it would not be sending out emails to every everyone alerting of a new post?
I will retest and let you know what I find. thanks, Kevin |
Did everyone post in that thread?
|
I think I am in a similar position to pcremedy in that one of my members has sent me the following email:
What I was really after was to have the messages drop into my (home email) Inbox without having to click through to a website. I would like to see all the messages in all the threads all the time (keen eh?). I have spent loads of time (trying to avoid taking up your time) trying to work out how to do this. Do I have to click on every thread in every Forum and subscribe to them all individually? How will I know when somebody starts a new one? If that is what it takes I will do it, but if there is a button you can click to ‘receive everything from all the forums all the time’ could you tell me where it is please, as it will save a lot of time?
The difference for my situation is that I want to be able to let individual members choose with a single click to see ALL posts that arrive in ANY thread and forum. Personally I prefer the 'subscribe' system - still, if a member is so keen that they want to see everything all the time, is there a way I can satisfy that want? TIA Phil |

Does a member have to post before this takes effect? |
A user is only subscribed to the thread if they post in it, and they have subscribing automatically set in the User CP.
|
Or if they subscribe to the forum.
|
still wondering how to provide instant email of every new post in the forum to one of my forum members. can anyone help?
