Post/Referral Contest Mod
 

Basically, something like this. Unfortunately, that website's coder stopped making this modification. Nevertheless, judging from search results on this website, it's something people want.

The modification lets you choose a start date and end date. However, it does not just count any post. You can set the amount of characters for each post to be counted. Furthermore, it doesn't just count any referral. You can set the options so it only counts referrals you make more than 5 posts, for example.

The crunched data would look something like this:

The points system makes it easy to determine the winner of the contest.

I definitely would be interested. I do this manually now.

Yea, except you can't do things like make referrals with only 5 posts count towards the contest, for example. I like that feature. And the points sytem is really useful as well.

Well, back in May, he said, "I haven't even looked at the thing in a few months. I took so much heat over a contest on one of my sites (the every post is spam crowd) that I just stopped working on it. I haven't had a posting contest since. I am a "have need" coder."

Maybe a coder willing to work on this can contact the author and see if he will send what he has done so far. The new coder could then release it.

You could use vbcredits and just edit the settings to achieve this. I know I have done this on my sites before. It isn't hard especially with the amount of settings you can do.

This is almost exactly what I was looking for. Too bad it's probably never going to be updated.
