how to start from scratch ???
 

Please advise....

we have a site, and we have a lot of hacks, and lots of stuff we have done, but we would like to start from scratch, with no hacks, no 3rd party anything, just a fresh clean board, but we would like to maintain our members, our posts, files, discussions and so on

How do we go about doing this ? without losing any members, posts, files, and so on

We want a fresh start, just the basic board as though we never added a single anything related to hacks, be it donate, be it the arcade, be it stats, and so on, not even our logo

just a plain, start from zero board, but with our members and their posts and files, PM's and so on

Is there an easy way to do this, please point me to the area that this is documented....

I would like to delete all the stuff we have, as we are finding the board running very slow, and we are getting many errors

Can someone in plain ole English, advise on how to go about doing this,,,or if the errors above are not critical, how to resolve them

Our goal is really to start from scratch, and build up on the site once again, with hacks, but probably not as many, only one's we really want to have, and ones that work and not give us problems and or slow us down

we have over 10 thousand members, and can have anywhere from 20 to 500 members online at any given time, but we find the site to become very slow after 200 members are online and active, it then even becomes difficult to upload files and or download them..

turn off the board then try to disable all the hacks first would be my advice.

Or Post a support ticket via your vbulletin control panel at vbulletin.com

And wait for their intrustion and i am sure they will help u that my advice.

I know we can turn them off, what I am after is getting rid of everything ( all hacks ) and having a clean board (virgin) just plain jane vB, no themes, no hacks, no extra code no nothing, except our members, posts, files, and such, all else completely gone

once that is done, we would like to start to build up on it once again, adding hacks as needed and ones we found to be of a great asset

did this already, unfortunately, there is no official supported way of doing what we are after...as per their reply to me...

I have done this as well, however I find not all is removed, if I changed any templates, that code is still in there

like say I added "marquee" in the navbar it would still be there, I would still need to go and remove all manually added code to templates

and child styles if you have

Don't forget to remove images e.t.c. from the old styles.
