Way different ;) This is meant as a means for a Newsletter, provides statistics and information retrieved from your database.

Is it possible to schedule it to be sent once in a week rather than daily or is it sent only after selecting send community newsletter ?

It's sent when once you click that button :D

The email appears fine at the Community newsletter Manager in Admincp, but when i see it in my inbox the style is gone (it appears grey, without adapting my current theme's style.
Any ideas?

I have installed and configured the settings for this yet when I click Community Newsletter Manager or Send News Letter I get a standard vbulletin No permission message, odd since I am the Admin, why`s that happening?

possible to have it include vbblog? will down load and try it out

o_0 Sure you're in the admin usergroup? Heh. Feel free to shoot me over a pm and i'll take a look myself ;) Seems to be something clashing with it as no one else is having the problem so far and i can't reproduce it.

Can it be setup so members can subscribe to it or does it just send it to every member?

I want to know how i can change it so it sends the letter to specific usergroups.
I would alsoo need a way to use more then one forumid for news.

1. I request this feature as well. Users must be able to sub/unsub from newsletter.
2. It would be great if you create a table to store sent newsletters and allow to display them in the forum for certain usergroups as well.
3. In the email, the latest Member links aren't clickable (Its fine in the preview)

Usergroups To Send To and Subscribe To Newsletter are only available in the premium modification atm.

At the moment ? I think you mean for ever ? Unless you release the premium for free then.
I cant use this hack in its current version without being able to send to specific usergroups.

It's a rather simple feature actually that i was considering on adding. I actually wanted to bring you guys here 1-2 features more for the light version, just undecided as to what two. That is why i said not "at the moment", till i decided for sure what 1-2 options to add as i get feedback from members here. However, i can't add the top 2 best ones either of course, which is where it gets tricky :p I'll try my best to see what more i can do : )

This is a great first start. Would like a "bit more" features in the light version, and definitely recommend that the "subscribe/unsubscribe" feature be added so we don't get hit with spamming violations.

My forum has about 9000 members and is on a dedicated server - what would the optimal number of emails be to send out in one go? I don't want to set things too high otherwise my server will probably barf, I'd like to know a safe number which will ensure that the send doesn't crash halfway through.

Well vbulletin updates about 2000 threads per cycle so I'm assuming even going with 1000 wouldn't be too bad. Unless you want to go lower.

i know is a light version thanks for share but would be nice to have Opt-Out for members so we don't look as spammers i think that a basic option all newsletter should have .

Not for the light one, only screenshots.

The light script should be updated with usergroup option by tomorrow.

The usergroup option to receive the CN is nice but I believe allowing members to choose if they want it or not is a great idea.

Not everyone will always want to receive a Community News Letter and members more vB savvy will look for an option to be removed from the list. Obviously if they cannot find how to turn it off they most likely will asked to be removed and when that cannot be done then your community is looking at a good chance of loosing that member and maybe more.

Some ideas that would be useful as add-ons (free or paid) would be Arcade and Casino alerts, new photos and new public groups.

I like what you have here but not something I would be interested in using without users having the option to recieve the Community Newsletter.

Cheers for this - what is the best way to upgrade? Should we uninstall the old version and reimport the new one?

Also will this mean that we lose any changes we made to our newsletter templates?

Between what two versions? Between this and the premium there are a few actually.. Can't say exactly what here since it might be considered advertising. However, there's a demo on the site.
