[AJAX] Live Search

This is mod rewrite of that: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=154694

Version 1.6

I'm added few functions:

search only, if typed >= 3 symbols;
header to window with button close;
message about no result;
limit number of threads;
highlight words in result
trim title of thread, if it large (optional)
edit position of pop-up window
work with vBadvanced
limit the number of displayed results
group permission
search by your own forums
sort results of search

Installation:
Import product :)

Upgrade
Uninstall the old version, delete files (if you has use it) and install new version.

For what you need english site? This is so easy, in the search field (top-right) type any phrase and you will see work of mod.
I can did screenshot, but it dont tell about mod...

Suggestion: Would it be possible to get rid of the custom Ajax XMLHttpRequests and use vB's built-in Ajax support instead?

HI

This aint working for me, I installed the product and uploaded all files in the forum root
I also used your search box code above and added it to my navbar, the search works
fine just not showing the the live search box :(

when i click the close link on search result it redirects me to index page... when im in threads and searching

for each word i type the search result display Èùåì...

How do you get this to work with a vbadvanced page at .com and the forum which is at .com/forum? I placed the search box in my navbar left of the welcome message... it works fine on the forum but not on the .com....the search results do not pop up.

Because i use one directory were placed forum and vbadvanced (/forum.php, /index.php).
In the next version with ajax - TODO:

search members (by request rovokop);
search in each forum, like "Search this forum";
more capability and functionality;

theres a bug when i add the code id="search_input" name="query" onkeyup="showHint(this.value)"

the profile tabs is gone and when i remove it its there again

I also noticed when the product is enabled the rss feed detector in IE does not work, when I disable this product the feed detector works.

If you already have this form, find <input type="text" ... /> and after type="text" add id="search_input" name="query" onkeyup="showHint(this.value)"

The place of the window and his style you can change in the file live_search.css

I'm sorry, but I don't understand this. Would be great if you add the details what files / templates to edit in order for the AJAX search function to work.

EDIT:
I got it to work thanks to someone's post in this thread. You might want to include that you have to edit one of the templates and add that code in it to make it to work.
