VaultWiki: A Wiki for your forum
** THIS MOD IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED **
We are no longer developing this, a newer version is available here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=309676 ** DOWNLOAD REMOVED ** The download attached to this thread has been removed due to known unpatched security issues: https://www.vaultwiki.org/pages/Book...-Patch-Level-2 We do not recommend using this version, and we cannot offer support for it any longer. VaultWiki does not bridge from other wiki products (like MediaWiki, etc). It is a wiki product written just for vBulletin. About VaultWiki "The powerful editing options in VaultWiki allow your community to collaborate to create and publish content pages for your site. Multiple users can edit the same page, and your staff can moderate changes as they are made. VaultWiki maintains a detailed history of every page, making it just as easy to reverse unwanted changes. Use to create general site content, user manuals, wikis... VaultWiki works by extending vBulletin's forum and permissions systems - easily create and designate forum areas for different purposes. With a little imagination, VaultWiki can be configured to do almost anything." Features and the Full Version The find out more about VaultWiki Lite's features or to purchase the full commercial version, see the comparison here: http://www.vaultwiki.org/features/ VaultWiki Lite cannot import data from other wiki products. If you want to do this, you'll need the full commercial version. Requirements:
Copyright Info VaultWiki Lite places a copyright notice in your forum's footer on any page where wiki functions are used. You are not allowed to modify the source code or phrases to remove this copyright. Troubleshooting and Support While VaultWiki Lite is offered for free on vbulletin.org, you will receive faster responses to support questions made at the official VaultWiki site: http://www.vaultwiki.org/ |
I'll watch this with interest
|
Is there a way to import MediaWiki data? I'd be inerested in replacing my bridged MediaWiki install with this if so, but don't want to start content again from scratch. I'm not much of a Wiki expert, unfortunately.
|
Importing MediaWiki data is something we would support for the full version only, currently only upon request.
|
This looks like it has good potential.
*Clicks install*. |
Do you have one demo please ?
|
Great product. Any demonstration?
|
The link in the first post is an example of a wiki article created using this mod.
|
i can't seem to find a comparison of the lite version and commercial version. this looks really interesting, but id like to see what im getting with the commercial version that im not with the standard/lite version.
also, if i install the lite version, can i upgrade to the commercial version? |
I'd purchase the full version if it works well with VBSEO.
|
The readme in the ZIP includes a list of features exclusive to the full version. Yes, if you install the lite version, you can upgrade to the commercial version at a later time without much added difficulty.
As for the full version working with VBSEO, I have no idea. I do not own VBSEO. All I can tell you is that the full version does include a way of making the URLs nicer. |
What's the difference between this and nuWiki? Granted NuWiki has been out of action for a year or so but as I currently have that would there be a need to switch to this?
|
NuWiki has a lot more bugs than this and is not supported. If you are asking for a comparison between NuWiki (which is commercial) and the commercial version of this, a comparison is present via the link in the first post.
|
I'm very interested in this! Will keep an eye out for the demo. :)
|
i can not access your site
|
Pending interest/install.
Need a demo and when I try to view the site I get errors...on and off all day. I guess I will wait until it is supported and out of the beta stage. |
It's not supported because it is a lite version. It's not really in beta stage. My site has just been down recently because we were updating our vBulletin to 3.7.3. Everything is up again.
Added the demo / screen links. |
Thanks for the update, will this work on forums running vbadvanced?
|
I don't see why it wouldn't. It's possible one or two of the features would require a patch, but that wouldn't be a problem really. It's not like a database conflict.
|
well im getting nothing but errors with this program.
first, vaultwiki.php line 141: PHP Code:

also, im not sure why the wiki forum is showing up twice on the main page when there's only one forum. or, why the wiki link in the main nav bar only shows up after you've clicked on one of the wiki forum links (to navigate into that forum) any help would be appreciated. |
Okay, there were some function calls and stuff that apparently didn't get removed when we lite-ized the product. Download the new ZIP and reupload the files you mentioned.
I'm not sure about the double wiki forum you mentioned, though. This is not something I have ever encountered. |
I have the full version running on my site and it's working pretty good at the moment, The support from these guys is excellent and they've fixed everything I have highlighted so far.
I had the nuhit wiki installed on my site prior to this and that was a bit of a nightmare, especially as it's nolonger supported, so I recently removed all trace of that and started again with this software. |
Klint, what's the experience difference like between the two? The only thing so far, after looking at the differences between them both, holding me back from getting this is that no pages can be protected. I might switch over to this after that addition is made. How much is this to purchase as I have to register on CES beforehand to see the price.
|
You can still lock a page like you lock a post in vbulletin, this stops people from doing anything to it.
as for prices, it's 40 dollars for the standard package and 60 for the premium one which has all the special bits added, best to just go register and see the differences. |
Can you elaborate a bit on what protecting a page should do? Technically you can still "protect" a page from editing by Closing it. If you need to "unprotect" it, you can just re-Open the thread.
EDIT: I see Kiint beat me to the punch here. |
When uninstalling I removed all files, but unless includes/functions_vault.php remains on the server, my site gets an error.
Reason for unistallation: Many phrases are not found, import tool does not exist, and I can't figure out how to add articles. |
I also had the above problems and my site went down. I then deleted functions.php and reuploaded it from the original vbulletin files and my site came back up.
|
Import Tool is not part of the Lite version. I will remove the link from the ACP.
To create new articles, all you need to do is click the "Post New Thread" button... If you uninstalled via the AdminCP it should have worked correctly. Was this not the case or did you delete the files before removing the product? What phrases were not found? |
Seems to be just what i need! Purchased it a few minutes ago, will try it out.
Robert |
Thank for demo and screens ^^
|
No major changes, just patched the ACP NAV, and fixed a bug when uninstalling, then installing the full version at a later time (where just upgrading would have avoided the bug). There was no change to the product-xml.
|
hi, when the edit button is used on an article to add or change something, a new twin article is created.
and then if I delete my original article or the new twin file, the article becomes absolutely empty. |
It sounds like you either didn't Rebuild the Article List before use or you didn't create the Namespace properly.
|
Having a unsupported version of a Full paid software with bugs isn't a good way to impress people.

Get the full version, I'm more impressed every day. Especially as there is more functionality being planned every week. He's fixing any bugs in the lite version as they are found but you can't expect him to go to every single website and support those users of the lite version. With my full version he's fixed everything I've found so far and I never get this level of support from anyone else. |
Can this work with 3.6.11?
|
This is not backwards compatible with the 3.6 family because it utilizes several tables and columns that did not exist in 3.6.
|
How do you guys like this? I have mediawiki, but its sooo slow on my site for some reason and its broken now, a forum wiki may be a easier solution to manage articles... but I would want to be able to import my exisiting articles... Any links to ValutWiki Sites? I would like to see a few more demo's... Does it have a category page? Any better layouts?
Thanks. |
Importing articles from other products, and category pages, are solely features of the commercial version. You will have to go ask these questions at the CES site mentioned in the first post.

Hi I have problem I installed the product without CHMOD functions.php to 0777 then I get this message
You skipped a step(s) during installation, so VaultWiki failed to modify /var/www/vhosts/arabuser.com/httpdocs/forums/includes/functions.php. Chmod this file to 0777 when I changed functions.php later to 0777 I get white pages in admincp or when opening the forums so I renamed the old functions.php to functions.php.old and I uploaded new one I can now see the forums but when I try to login to admincp I get the same message You skipped a step(s) during installation, so VaultWiki failed to modify /var/www/vhosts/arabuser.com/httpdocs/forums/includes/functions.php. Chmod this file to 0777 so how I can uninstall the product and reinstall it in this case and im geting this message |
