Excellent Postbit Legacy

Here is something I have been using on my boards due to a fixed width size, but works of course with fluid also.

Inspired by other sites I got all this together.

1) Upload images attached to their respective folders on your root image directory (do not replace folders) just upload the images to the folders you already have

2) In Postbit Templates / postbit_legacy replace all content for this:

If you want to add / remove / edit fields you will see a mark like


underneath that you will see fieldxx add the ones you use for your site, and if you want to add more, just add from the <div mark to the other /div>

You can also edit the gray lines that separates each Field

I love your postbit style, I think I mentioned it in your review thread. I'll have a go at installing it later, see how it looks on my board.

Sorry I should have said something about that.

You edit the template and you will see  there you can add more or remove fields.

Can you just modify postbit_legacy for 3.7.3 ..

they apply some change to postbit_legacy ..

postbit_legacy

Add ad locations within the first post (at the start and before the signature).
Changed the reputation to display on a separate line from reputation power, to be consistent with postbit.

I like the new look more than before ..

Amazing, so often do you see an ugly, cluttered postbit. They are a +++++ to fix up, but you've done a great job!

Just had to fix the "noavatar.gif", changed it to "noavatar.png", and I'm now gonna try get vBstatus going somehow...

Jaiibee with png avatars looks awesome :up: congrats, and also the gray lines that separates the fields can also be changed color, and also the double lines that you see can also be fixed and add a profile field there too.

Here's my take. I modified my existing postbit based on your idea. This is the before (left) and after (right) postbit of one of my Mods. Everything's there except IM icons, which show up below the rep line.

PS: Beware, path to images are static in background property. Maybe there's a way to call a vbulletin variable to make them dinamic ?

Go to the options menu in the admin CP. Go to Style & Language Settings, then set "Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template" to Yes.

I'd take a guess either custom PHP modification of the vbulletin source code, or some pretty epic phpnuke coding ability (if that is what the VB templates are =\)

Just as a side note for everyone, it may look a little more inplace if the IM icons are centered.

Kinda off topic, but is there a way to prevent members from linking large images in their signatures.?

Great Mod many thanks - needed something like this.
Couple of issues though for a COMPLETE novice!

1. Currently only number of posts is ahowing. How do i make it display things like 'location' and custom profile field 'papers studying now' etc - In plain english please

2. The avatars are too high - i.e. they are halfway between the post header (shaded bit) and the actual post. How can I lower them so the whole avatar just shows in the post section only.

3. like mentioned before - How to make signature showing all the time - and not a dropdown box after clicking 'show signature'

You can remove the <br />, i acctually deleted the whole thing looke pretty smooth.

Excellent, I have just one issue, if user dont fill the homepage URL its all messed up and shows forum URL. If user fill his homepage everything is fine ?

Weird.. mine doesn't do that at all.
It must be conflicting with another mod or somthing.
