What Happened With Boofo?

It has come to my notice that Bob's (Boofo) Hacks are kinda disappeared. Regarding his Profile his last Hacks are dated from vB 3.0. Also his Signature is disappeared too. Still wondering where all his hacks are located at. After researching I figured out, that all his Hacks have been moved into the Modification Graveyard. Do you know what happened? Don't tell me he has left that Forum here. Would be really sad because I like him and his gentle acting. Anyone who know what happened with Bob?

cheat-master30 08-24-2008 12:09 PM

He left because he hated the behaviour of the staff.

Mike-D 08-24-2008 12:21 PM

What? Really? Can't believe that. It's members like him that keep the forum more interesting and helpfull. Too bad to see that he left :( Will do my best to get him back ;) Anyway thanks for clarifying :)

KURTZ 08-24-2008 01:14 PM

without Bobby the .org site isn't the same ... :S

Shelley_c 08-24-2008 02:33 PM

Just another amazingly good contributor forced out of a site that could be so much more than what it is. I doudbt boofo would contribute again due to the way he was treated, I know I wouldn't. :D

I agree.

I've been talking to him on IM. I doubt he'll be coming back.

Jase2 08-24-2008 02:51 PM

He won't come back. Blame the staff & their arrogant tone.

Shame, really.

nexialys 08-24-2008 02:57 PM

ah come on guys, Boofo is not dead, he just told me yesterday that he was fine... lol

ok, after 5 beers he is fine...

Ohiosweetheart 08-24-2008 03:01 PM

Yep he's alive and well!

Jase2 08-24-2008 03:13 PM

Well, that's one good thing at least. :)

Spank 08-24-2008 03:51 PM

How was he treated?

iogames 08-24-2008 04:03 PM

Well enough Chit-Chat! let's prepare a welcome Party!!!
if he was treated wrongly by staff, we can threat him really nice because we appreciate and value Seniority and/or experience...

We miss you Boofo! https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

p.s. and Thanks for nothing Mike-D, you ruined the surprise party!
p.p.s. Besides? who's gonna defend us from Nexialys :D

Boofo left and pulled all of his modifications on his own will. If I remember correctly, he's done it previously too.

As for the staff, I'm pretty sure every single staff member has dedicated their time in answering his coded related problems on this forum....if that's arrogance, then I don't know what else to say.

Shelley_c 08-24-2008 04:47 PM

Nice chap wouldn't do harm to anyone and his contributions shall be missed. :)

iogames 08-24-2008 04:48 PM

Yeah, but at the end we are somehow 'family'...
We all have to concede and bring Big Bear back...

p.s. We may be 'intelligent with computers' but we must be 'emotionally intelligent' and the guy was good to us...

Thanks, Peggy. So please convey him my greetings that we still miss him. That's also the reason why I've started that Thread :)

*sniff...sniff* so we can't get him back??? Walks away with hands in my pockets, head hanging down, kicking dirt...:(

Lynne 08-24-2008 05:00 PM

He's on IM right now. Maybe we should synchronize our watches and all bomb him with a "Boofo, come back to vb.org!!!!" message at the same time. :D (It's 11:00 am PST for me right now)

iogames 08-24-2008 05:06 PM

He knows he's 'D'Boss' he can come back and sit on his Chair ;)

Ohiosweetheart 08-24-2008 05:30 PM

That's what he told me on IM. Perhaps if enough of us bombard him, he'll change his mind... ;)
I did tell him about this thread and gave him the url

I don't recall Boofo pulling his mods before. I know he was offline for almost a year due to his computer crashing and other personal issues.

Boofo left, in his own words, because of his code being ripped and no one would do anything about it.

So Shelley's post that you quoted is absolutely right on -

It's happen several times before.. hey free will to everyone, but pulling all their hacks and saying it's the "vb.org staff's fault" is just plain stupid!

</rant>

nexialys 08-24-2008 06:58 PM

Bah, Boofo is not the only one to have drop all his hacks from vb.org... look at my profile... no hack.. ;) and i know a lot of guys that have quit due to different situations, not always fights with the staff...

anyway, now everybody know, can we go along?

.. i need a beer now... BOB ???

To be fair Danny, I don't think it's fair play when the dedicated member (Boofo) in question isn't here to defend himself as being branded as arrogant (note!! the same member) who had dedicated his time when vborg needed him (the same person you and co) worked along side. Makes me laugh how you can discriminate such a valued member of the community because things went pear shaped but he wasn't so arrogant when he donated his time to help in support and submitted his modifications.

I'm sure the thread will be closed but just a note that the unprofessional statement from you should be brought into pm with boofo.

Regs 08-24-2008 10:29 PM

Ummm, wasn't it someone else (Jase2) whom branded the vb.org staff as being arrogant?

I don't see anyone saying Boofo was arrogant here.

Play fair indeed.

Dean C 08-24-2008 11:06 PM

I'm all for Boofo not coming back. He raises the average age far too much ;)

I agree ;).

The old guy is alive and well and I try to stay in contact with him when I can. Lately I've been busy with school though so I have not had the chance.

You always hate to see someone like Boofo leave the community. He's held nearly every position here from clueless newbie to staff member. I'm sure he knows he'll be welcomed back with open arms if he ever decides to return.

You don't try to keep in contact with me. Too busy chasing skirt ;)!

Everything was handled due to policies and investigated. Decisions were based on code evidence.

No one has called Boofo arragant. Also, staff descriminates against no one and cases are handled exactly the same no matter who you are.

I believe that 90% of all conflicts on forums are a result of miscommunication. Case in point:

1. Jase2 says Boofo won't come back because of the staff's arrogant tone.

2. Danny asks the rhetorical question of how can the staff be considered arrogant, when the staff has donated their time to helping boofo (and everyone) with code related questions.

3. Shelly says, she doesn't think it's fair to call Boofo arrogant when he's not around.

I didn't get to communicate much with Boofo before he left, but I liked him well enough. I did do a lot of reading of old posts on this forum, and Boofo did seem to be a little confrontational at times. But most of them, like most confrontations, are due to breakdowns in communication. Either someone reads someone else's post wrong, or we don't type our post out clearly enough to convey the mood behind it. Though, I have to say, the ladder is the most difficult to perfect. Nine times out of ten, people are going to imbue a post with whatever perception they have of that person when reading it. And if the post is a dissenting view, then it's even more likely to be read with a hostile tone, even if one was never intended.

nexialys 08-25-2008 03:43 AM

PR Jedi guy.. ;)
