Description:

Version 2.00 is a major step up from the older versions.

The main difference in 2.00 is the way it works, before PassiveVideo would make the server do all the work. Now 99% of the work is pushed onto the clients machine.

Another major difference is the amount of control Passive Video gives the Admin and User.

Oh and i almost forgot, the embedding is now done with swfObject 2.0 so now you can globally control settings like wmode and it should work in all browsers now.

Admins can now Enable/Disable videos per forum and per usergroup.

Users can now Enable/Disable video embedding too.

2.00 is a COMPLETE REWRITE!

Why is it VBkig 1.0.5 and vbAdvanced 3.0.1 not included ? :confused:

May have already been asked, but I assume if we uninstall the older version (PassiveVid 1.1.2 is what I have) and install this that all older links to videos will still work without any modifications to older posts etc?

Ok some video sites like Break.com require more information that what is provided in the basic URL to create an Embed. In order to get this info your server snags it from the video site upon submission of a post or thread or edit.

So previous sites may not work yet, because i haven't added support for them.

One way to fix an old post @ the moment is to re-save it, and that would force the server to re-parse it.

I do plan on adding the ability to support the old URL format of 1.X

And your using Firefox? Hmmmm, I have 2GB of ram on this laptop.

I have another question. I use VBSEO on my site and some links get converted into descriptive URLs instead of embedded videos. I know this isn't really your problem but wondered if you had a quick fix?

Great mod, love the title of the video above the embedded vid. If this does indeed pass the process onto the user and not the server then I'll be well chuffed!

I'm really only interested in backward youtube compatibility. Not many other types of links have been posted in our forums.

youtube works fine from past videos because youtube has done a good job @ providing all the info you need in the urls.

and every time i post it post 2 videos of the same one

the Screen Shots are of Passive Video FULL not LITE. The only difference between the two is the amount of sites it supports, and the amount of support you will receive. as for the 2 videos did you uninstall the previous version?

Great work on 2.0, but I prefer the 1.12 version. I am a big fan of v1.12, and I hope you continue to support it. I chose your system over others, because it was very "passive", and easy for my users to add videos. Thanks again for such a great mod. :)

v1.12 is no longer supported

there are many reasons for this, mainly its extremely sloppy and hogs system resources.

Hello.

I found a small bug, on [passive video][profile] hooks plugin. You should add the phrases on the phrase system and not directly inside the code. This way users running vBulletin on a different language can translate the text in a better way, without the need of actually editing the source-code.

should be

hmmm. I uninstalled 1.12 and replaced it with 2.0 lite. None of my old youtube video links are working...

I have tried to edit the post, and re-insert the link and still got nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

I have tried making new threads and just copy / pasting the youtube code and that's not working either...
