Agreed. "Change the email address for which the contact us form data is sent to." just doesn't make any sense. Or I'm too dumb to grasp it.

great one .. thanks

When users use the sendmessage.php script to contact the site owner, the email goes to the "Webmasters Email" entered in the AdminCP.

This modification will let you have that form sent to another email address if you wish, such as feedback@site.com.

I suppose some people would have a use for it, but why they dont use the same as the webmasters email is beyond me. But different strokes for different folks

And i suppose you could always use the earlier version posted here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=119802 which from the looks of it is the exact same code, minus some description texts... :rolleyes:

We can always use this way to send mails to specific userid's from the default contact us options in admincp:-

{1} Site Feedback
{1} Registration Problem
{example@example.com} Help

So, simply prefixing a userid in the above format would do it.

The only thing where the above vb feature lacks in is for "OTHERS" subject which I hope this mod fulfills ;)

Cause you get all emails to the same account:

database warnings, auto-replys from forum mailing between members ...

Thats one thing i never understood.

How about adding the option to post "Contact Us"-messages as posts in a certain forum? ;)

veenuisthebest 08-22-2008 10:17 AM

that would be a different mod then. check this.

Yes, but I have no problem filtering those from gmail and sending them to the appropriate people.

What I'd rather see is an easy way to change the From: addy on all the subscriptions.

choccyclaire 08-22-2008 02:49 PM

I still don't get it. Isn't that option already in the vBulletin Options?

The code is very similar, because the original code of vBulletin is this:
Code:

if (!empty($alt_email))
        {
            if ($destemail == $vbulletin->options['webmasteremail'])
            {
                $ip = IPADDRESS;
            }
            else
            {
                $ip =& $vbphrase['n_a'];
            }
            $destemail =& $alt_email;
        }
        else
        {
            $ip = IPADDRESS;
            $destemail =& $vbulletin->options['webmasteremail'];
        }

and to replace email ($vbulletin->options['webmasteremail']), it is necessary to replace all code.

You can view the original code in sendmessage.php in lines 283-299, above the hook sendmessage_docontactus_complete.

Do you have permission from rogersnm to re-use his code, as this is an almost 100% copy of his modification. Even the text for the options etc.. are 99% the same.
