My custody case

Just wanted to share to the world, as of 3:15 PM Central time yesterday, I won sole custody of my son with my ex getting long distance visitation according to AZ law. I'm so excited and happy this court battle is over, went on for 2 years too long.

Anyway, just wanted to share.

Cheers
Steve

i hate family fights too, it's a good thing that is finished... kids does not have to suffer from seperations, whatever the reasons...

cheat-master30 08-09-2008 06:24 PM

Congratulations Steve M!

iogames 08-09-2008 07:40 PM

Same here, never been there, but it seems you're enjoying Justice :) happy for you...

Lynne 08-09-2008 07:58 PM

Custody battles are not fun for the parents or kids. I'm glad it's over for you guys and congratulations on being granted sole custody of your son.

Mythotical 08-09-2008 08:20 PM

Thanks everyone, I did this without a lawyer, not hard to take what you watch on TV and use in a real court room, just gotta know how to tone down what they show on TV. LOL

My son thankfully is too young to have to deal with the situation as they wouldn't interview him or anything. Though he doesn't ask about his mother or anything so makes me wonder what they did to him while he was there with them. Oh well, its over with and I can rest easier now knowing I don't have to deal with this ever again. w00t More beers to drink tonight for celebration.

PoetJA-1975 08-09-2008 08:23 PM

Yeah - family fights = no good drama...
Congratulations and only wishing you and your son the best STEVE ;)

Congratulations Steve,I went throught the court system 4 times here in the UK and won every time, my son has been with me exclusively for 12 years now........... hard work but worth every minute, hope all goes well for your family from now on.

Rapscallion 08-10-2008 07:04 AM

Glad to hear a happy ending. How's your son taking it?

Rapscallion

Mythotical 08-10-2008 07:27 AM

Thanks, right now I don't feel I will have to continue with court hearings again because my ex knows I have alot of stuff on her and I know how to call her bluffs.

Rapscallion: My son is very very happy that he doesn't have to go back to his mother's now.

Congratulations Steve,

Reading this kinda makes me feel that there's justice and equality in our justice system. My brother is going through the same thing so I hope the goodluck rubs off. :)

Congrats! :D

Custody battles always have two stories Shelley. How can you comment that this was the right choice and justice has been served without knowing both sides. That's why I've not commented on this thread thus far. I'm sure Steve is a great fella, but who knows what his story is. I'm not particularly interested, as we'll never here the other side of it ;)

nexialys 08-11-2008 12:09 PM

Dean, party breaker... tsssss

lol

for a rare time, i see a father care for the wealth of his kid...

christicehurst 08-11-2008 01:43 PM

Don't have kids, it prevents court cases :)

For a father to be awarded sole custody of a child then there must have been a case (which I don't want to know) on a negative side on the mothers part. I'm not getting into it with you dean because A. it's none of your buisness and b. it's none of mine & c. congratulations again steve.

Mythotical 08-11-2008 03:38 PM

The mother took my son to a non relative's and dropped him off, not knowing where she was or anything. At that point is when I started the battle for custody as she showed no interest in caring for him. She planned to leave him with that non relative for a full year with no interaction with his own mother, according to AZ law that is abandonment and I will not stand for my son to be abandoned. Thanks for the come down Dean C. Really ruin my mood.

WTG! Steve

Hear more and more of men getting custody of kids.

I have had mine since they were 1 & 5.
5 ys this Nov.
NO VISITATION OR SUPPORT.
(court took her maternal rights)

MEN CAN RISE KIDS.

Women don't get the automatic ENTITLEMENTS they used to get.
They are SLOWLY learning, just being female is no longer enough.

It's good all the kids are 1 family.
Again, congrats Steve.

i would just suggest to Dean to follow christicehurst' suggestion.. lol...

Steve... there is always some negative points in a situation like this... Dean is not wrong... nobody ever know until we're facing the facts... Dean always give his own opinions... that's good... you then see both sides of things instead of just the joy and laughs.. :)

Fair enough Steve. I can only take your word for it :)

Mythotical 08-11-2008 10:52 PM

Dean C: If you want the court site and court case number you can look it up and view the minute orders since its public information in the state of AZ.

Thanks to everyone again but I'm not sure I will be returning to this site.

Well - I can't say I don't blame you - But truthfully speaking - I'd say wipe the insult off your shoulders like so many specks of irritating dust ;)

Jacquii.
