Hi, I have been looking for the " Total guests that have visited the forum in the last 24 hours: hack", but all I can find in the Intergrated "Guest and Member" hack.
I am just looking for the GUEST hack for the 3.6.8 Version like the attched pic. Your help will be very much appreciated. Regards, Welshy. |
Oh Gawd, I have put this in the wrong place, Haven't I? I do appologise profusely, if I have.

Thanks for your reply M-tuning...
I am not the best when it comes to these sort of things.... ... I am using cPanel and vBulletin Version 3.6.8 - The following is from PaulM's instructions... To install ; Unzip the XML files. Upload the bitfields file to your ../includes/xml folder. Import the product into vB using the ACP Product Manager. Set your required permissions in the usergroup manager. Note that by default no permissions are given, you must set them. I cannot locate a file "/includes/xml folder" in my cPanel. Any ideas on how I could find one/add one? Please? Which route is it? is it.... Home Directory? Web Root (public_html/www) Public FTP Root (public_ftp) Document Root for: Sorry for is the "Obvious to you guys". Your help and patience will be appreciated. |
it's in the folder where you have installed vBulletin.
|
I didn't put it together (I couldn't/can't do it).
I had a webdesigner to put the website and forum together for me. I no longer have contact with her. Any idea on what I can do now please? |
Surely you know and have access to where your vBulletin files are on your server.
|
Through cPanel - Yes.
But there appears to be 4 different routes as shown in my post Number 4. When I received help from a member on vBulletin.com in the past, he said that it was in a bit of a mess. :( |

admincp archive clientscript cpstyles customavatars .... There might be some differntly files in the list, but that will be the order. Keep looking down that list and you find the includes folder. I also suggest you read the vBulletin documentation, since you'll be having to do a lot of this yourself from now on. |

Thanks DJ. I believe I have found it and added it to the correct file.
(attachments below). I have added it inmy cPanel - is that all I need to do for it to work or is there a certain thing or way to get it to my forum/server, Please? Thank You for you Patience so far. :) |
Now you have to follow the rest of the mod's install instructions.

I have followed the instructions - I imported it via my ACP - it shows (attach' below) but it doen't show on my forum Homepage.
Any Ideas Please? |
Did you also do this?:
Set your required permissions in the usergroup manager. |
You can also just set the COOKIE expiration time to 24 hours and then it will display the number of visitors in the last 24 hours on your home page - where it says number of visitors online.

I didn't - No.
What/Where do I need to change, Please? |
Thanks for your reply JC, But I am looking for the version that PaulM has put together. :D
Your Input is appreciated. |
A moderator will probably come on here in a few minutes saying you should direct all questions about a specific modification in the modification thread, but to answer your question, your already in the right menu. Like I said, this is one of the very basic functions of vBulletin and if you haven't read the documentation yet, you really should. It will clear up a lot of your basic questions.

OK Thanks -
I have a feeling it has something to do with the "Root" in cPanel. Surely that has to "Uploaded" to my Server? but I don't know how. I have purchased the licence for the "Smartftp". --------------- Added [DATE]1218041296[/DATE] at [TIME]1218041296[/TIME] --------------- DJ - Thank You - I appreciate all the help that you have given me and even more so for your Patience. Maybe I will have to put this one down to a failure on my part? :( |

Evening Paul. :)

Welshy, there's plenty of free FTP programs available for download. I use Filezilla personally. You might want to look into that.
cPanel will let you upload files simply by clicking the Upload button, but I've never used it. FTP is likely much faster. "Root" simply refers to the upper most file in a file tree. In other words, all the files and subfolder of your forum are in your a single folder. Wherever that folder is or whatever it's called, it's considered your "forum root". Your site is likely located in a folder called public_html. That's your "site root". Just give it some time. Grasping this is not as "out there" as you may think. |
Thanks DJ. Appreciate it.
The reason I have Smartftp, is that it came highly recommended as a FREE programme. I downloaded it and only at the end of the download did it state that it was no longer Free. It said along the lines of: " After being available for Free to Millions of people for over 10 years, this programme is no longer free". So I thought 'What the heck' I have come this far, and subscribed and paid the fee. (It wasn't a lot). It has taken some getting used to, but I am getting the hang of it. :) |
