Canned Replies - User Saved Text for Replies, Threads, PMs & Infractions
 

Description:
This mod allows each user to store standard replies which they can quickly access upon creating a reply, thread, pm or infraction.
[Demo here - registered members have permissions to use canned replies]

Features:

• Adding and editing canned replies is fully integrated into the User CP with vBulletin Editor. [+]
  Quick Link -> User Control Panel;
  Then scroll down page and you will see 'Edit your Canned Replies'
  url to canned replies is http://www.your-forum.com/cannedreplies.php
• Permissions can be set per usergroup
  (AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> {Select Usergroup} -> Can use Canned Replies)
  (AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> {Select Usergroup} -> Maximum Canned Replies Per User)
• Quickly Reply with Standard Message either in Quick Reply [+] or Advanced Reply [+]
• Can also be used in NewThread [+] User Infractions [+] and PM System

Installation:

1. Follow instructions included in .zip
2. Click Install

• Icons for UserCP uses different usercp_shell so auto-insert link plugin doesn't work in UserCP. Click here to see manual template edits needed.

Finally! Excellent! I'll have to wait for the permission based version though, as I only want this for moderators and up. Any timeframe for the additional features?

I beleive its very usefull addon.
It may sound u strange but, is it also possible to use it in newthread template as well ?
Why am i asking this ? For all movie reviews, we use the same template. Then we edit this template with the movie details we gonna post. So this kind of addon would make our job much easier, if we could choose the template (there are 4 different templates) from the selection box...

I'll be integrating vB_editor after I've added the usergroup permissions.

I think I can code this myself, but asking never hurts: would you please look into integrating this within the infraction system? (if PM's are required, like we do). I believe the correct template is userinfraction, but I'm not really sure , since I only see a reference to $messagearea. Integration with the infraction system would be most helpful for us :up:

You might want to look at the Stencil Hack if you only need one template per forum.

Like said, I'll install this when it's for moderators/super moderators/administrators only. I also don't think that they should have the ability to edit it. It should be editable via the ACP for all staff members...

I've updated this to v1.1 which includes usergroup permissions and optional template edits for use of canned replies in newthread and userinfractions.

I have installed this. Everything seems to be working okay, but when I go to use it to test it, I get:

I have the same problem. When we choose the canned replies from dropdown list. The text is not prefilled into the editor textarea.

What is the exact title and message you are trying to use (you can pm it to me if it contains personal info)?

Yes I have applied and double check.

I should suggest testing with all type of editor (simple , standard, full editor) of vbu because the textarea ID keep changing when users switch to other mode.

Later on today, I have removed some javascript and they works. However, when I switch to other editor modes https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/07/26.gif , it stop working

I have coded and tested it for the WYSIWYG and standard editors (defaults). Are you using the basic editor?
On which template are you referring to?

I didn't see the Canned Replies drop downs anywhere...

The current version only works when using the enhanced interface. I am looking into fixing this.

Just upgraded to 1.4 and all template edits done .. usergroup permissions set to YES !?

I do not see canned replies anywhere as well. Also had to manually edit my usercp in order to get the link to show up.

Template edits where done and usergroup permissions where yes.
Appears to be some kind of error in your code while including the php file as $cannedreplies returns nothing.

Sorry about that, I've uploaded v1.4 again, just re-import the product (this fixes the dropdown menu appearing and also the link displaying in usercp)

Thanks for your effort so far. It seems to work now. But in FF3, it only work if I change the editor mode to wysiwyg. In Plain text mode, when I change the canned reply from the drop down the text is in textarea is not changed.

Canned Replies works fully with Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing; I am currently working on finding a way for its use in Basic & Standard Editors.

Okay, not sure if this matters. I just tested this in another browser on my site, I just used netscape and it worked fine. But for IE7, it seems to not work for me. So this is a browswer issue for me, not sure why tho.

I installed the plugin, did all the template edits and enabled it for my usergroups and i still dont see the link in usercp. I installed version 1.4.4

Quick Links -> User Control Panel -> Edit Your Canned Replies
Its in group Settings & Options on the left of page, directly below Edit Ignore List
