You can set each forum to use a specific style. See the forum settings.

You want the images different for each style? Change the path to the images in the StyleVars section for your style. You may want to create a folder in the images folder just for your style and copy all the images into it and then replace the images you want to replace. ie:

images
- style1
-- misc
-- buttons
-- etc

In the forum manager edit a forum and find this section Prefix for Forum Status Images, then add a prefix and save. Then create status icon images with those prefixes in the name and place them in the statusicons folder.

That was the "noob" tutorial. Come to think of it, there's really no other way to say it. What did you do exactly that's not working?

Every statusicon folder for every skin that forum will be using.

If you'd clicked the little "?" icon in the Admin CP, you'd have seen what you did wrong. 17 is your prefix. So now you have to recreate each of the status icons (their names are listed in the Help popup) you want to use for that forum and prefix their name with 17.

Sorry but i still didn't get what you ment

Digital Jedi 07-31-2008 03:14 AM

Which part?

Sycoloco1212 07-31-2008 03:19 AM

just what do i put for prefix as a example and what forum images...

like for prefix it would be 17 and image name 17_forum_old.gif ?

Digital Jedi 07-31-2008 03:23 AM

No, it would be 17forum_old.gif, becaue you named your prefix 17. If you want the underscore as part of the name, then you would need put 17_ as your prefix in the Admin CP.

All the image names you need to create and add a prefix to are listed in help popup in the Admin CP.

ok in your main style find your statusicon folder

then, example add a image like this wow_forum_old.gif ( needs to be .gif ) and put it inside statusicon folder in your main style..

now goto admin cp - forum manager - and for prefix image you would put wow_

so what wow_ would do is for that section you would have

* wow_forum_link.gif
* wow_forum_new.gif
* wow_forum_new_lock.gif
* wow_forum_old.gif
* wow_forum_old_lock.gif
all these images will work for that section aslong as you set the prefix image to wow_
