Did you repair/optimize your database after importing it? Have you tried updating any of the counters since the move?

Opserty 07-27-2008 08:27 PM

Can you post an example link to where this error message is occurring?

PAKIDIL 07-28-2008 03:17 AM

i have tried to optimize it nothing happenes .any more suggestion please

RLShare 07-28-2008 03:28 AM

Sounds like you lost the content of your post table on the import...

Do you have access to phpmyadmin or something similar where you can browse the database and see if the post table is filled with the appropriate data?

PAKIDIL 07-28-2008 04:05 AM

yes i do have access to the phpmyadmin .but how can i see the post table there ?

RLShare 07-28-2008 04:14 AM

Navigate to your database for the VB setup. Then click on the post table, and click the browse tab.

PAKIDIL 07-28-2008 04:22 AM

its shows up there like userid,ip,and other stuff including users text message too. any suggestion

How did you move to the new server?
How was the backup created?
How was the backup restored?

A link to your board might help troubleshooting this.

PAKIDIL 07-28-2008 11:00 AM

i download the backup in my pc with the format gzip format and then upload it to the new server in via backup>restor mysql data base and done then upload the forum file .i cant put link here .link is pm to ya
waiting for ur reply

That doesn't explain how it was created.

See the following on how to backup/restore. Also ensure that both new and old database use the same Character Set.

The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here:

Backup:
http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...nce_ssh_backup

Restore:
http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...ce_ssh_restore

P.S. If you don't have shell access, some people have also reported success with these scripts:

MySQLDumper:
http://www.mysqldumper.de/en/index.php

MySQLHotxcopy:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...t=mysqlhotcopy

Bigdump:
http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php

So, you saw the page which showed the table above and then you checked all the boxes and hit Repair/Optimize on the bottom of the screen? Did you do that a couple of times until all the tables said they were up-to-date?

PAKIDIL 07-31-2008 02:18 PM

yeah all update the intresting part is when i click on members profile any of my member and click on find all post by him .then posts are showing from there only.

This only tells us how he moved the backup file from 1 server to the other. It does not tell us how the backup file was created nor how it was restored.

PAKIDIL 08-01-2008 11:17 AM

okay get your point here is the full detail

3 months ago i have backup my forum from phpmyadmin in to my pc .it was in .gz format. my forum got hack and everything was deleted .so i have change the hosting and get the new one .
then my hosting provider ask me to move my backup.sql in to his hosting server using ftp . i did it .then from his part he just use some command mysql dataname something to make it up .

my backup.sql file was 38.2 mb after he has moved to the server its size is 32.1mb .post are not showing only for few members like only 2 or 3 members post can be view in the forum and the rest of the member's post cant be view erorr is coming .

i tried to check up the table .went to phpmyadmin click on post and all the post there does exit and i can see it there but not on vbulletin
any help please ? or if i didnt make it clear let me know please

Marco van Herwaarden 08-01-2008 11:27 AM

A backup from phpMyAdmin is not the most reliable. But as we can not make a new backup anymore, i guess that is what we will need to work with. You can ignore the difference in size, most likely the difference between Windows/Linux.

The best option to troubleshoot this would be to open a Support Ticket, so one of our support staff can have a look at the database.
