vBookie or comparable for vBulletin 3.7?
Correction ..I got a version working, only problem I am having is that I cannot get the settings to remain on "YES" for any of the vBookie options (posting, creating, betting) they are defaulted at "No", so I Change to "Yes" and save, then they are switched back to "No" automatically? Any help?
I am running vBulletin 3.7.2 patch 1 with this ( https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=94128 ) vBookie, others have said in that thread they are doing it with no problems Thanks for the help in advance! |
Im having a problem in that I have had the vbookie for 3.7.2 proffesionally installed but the thing doesnt allow me to post an event!I can see the option to start a new thread with vbookie selected but it doesnt actually allow me to state what the event is?! All I have ben told is that it isnt supported so no guarantee that this would work....

So you and I are having the same problem |
If you have questions/problems with a modification or style, then please post in the thread (or support forum/board) about that modification/style. Best chance to receive a reply from either the author or another member using the same modification/style.

Marco,
The modification isn't supported anymore and the author has said he will never port it or release to someone else. Now this is a general programming discussion forum, no? Please quit ruling this place with an iron fist - it is really getting tiresome. |
I am not ruling anything in this thread. I gave you an advise on how to get an answer to your question in the fastest way. Even if the author does not support the modification anymore, the thread of the modification is still the place where other users of the same modification might be able to assist you.

i am with Marco if people actually read the thread it has fixes there for them that other members have posted
|
If Andreas no longer has an interest in vBookie then why would he not let someone else port it
seems kinda like a ++++ move to me... |
Well, that is kinda my point on letting discussions like this one take place.
The original hack is abandoned, the port author has even gone so far as to remove some very helpful links/info in the first post, and the thread is way to large to find the exact bits of code to help make it work. This forum is for programming discussions, I don't quite understand why, in this case, people can't discuss programming for an abandoned modification. |
You are discussing it, are you not? I do not see the thread closed? Marco merely made a suggestion. Which in this case is true if the fixes are posted in that thread already.

Thread killer.

To be honest, I didn't think you were taking me seriously in the first place.
Killing threads is an act of not letting them mature. As an official Jelsoft rep, your "suggestions" at an early stage tend to end them. For this modification, the 3.5 thread is bordering on 2000 posts, the port author has made it more difficult to find the necessary fixes, he won't allow anyone else to carry it on - even though he himself got that permission from the original code owner. Thus, it appears, continuing to post in that thread is a dead-end. So with that being said, where on vb.org would be the best place to discuss the coding replacement for vBookie? It's an honest question. |
