Just Another Vbulletin Hack - JAVH 1
 

About this hack:

It is javh not java :D
I always wanted to have my other site links on my forums. That is the main reason to build this hack. After that I added some useful links from the forum itself like start new thread if the user on forumdisplay page, add new reply when the user on show thread page, search, today posts, new unread posts, pmstatus, and others. That is for logged in users, for visitors they will see the login form and registration link.

Then to make the hack more usefull, I added the last # post on the forums in a marquee below the hot links.

The Javh 1 is the first hack of series of hacks, where each hack has a different implementation and uses. So Javh 2 will be a different than javh 1 and javh 3 will be different than 2 and so on. No idea what javh 2 will be about, but you may suggest or give an idea for a hack that is really needed by most VB forum admins.

Please note I added links to my site in the hot links of the hack options just to give you an idea of how hot links can be used. You need to change them to what ever you want or delete them if you wish after installing the product. Setting an empty link title or url will hide that link.

More Descriptions:
This hack is about a floating menu.

It has max of three rows of links and min two.

The first line has an external links of other sites or ads that the forum administrator need to add to his forum. This will be useful to drive visitor attention to some other pages. This line can be removed completely by setting empty titles or urls in the hack options, that is from title/url 1 to title/url 7.

The second line has links of the forum itself so when the member is logged in he will see new posts, today posts, search, pm status, and logout link. If the visitor is not a member or has not logged in member he will see the login form with registration link. More links will be added depending on the visitor current page, so if the visitor is on a showthread page a newreply link will appear, if he is on a forumdisplay add newthread link will appear.

The last line is marquee with the last # of posts.

The administrator can control almost everything in the hack like its background color or image, font color and size, and marquee direction.

The hack width is automatically adjusted but administrator can set its width to whatever he wants.

In version 1.1 a new close button been added to allow visitor to close the hack and it will not open again until the next browser session. The administrator can still change this to make "javh 1" always on and hide the close button from the hack options.



That's it no more talking. Screenshots will give you more idea about this hack.

Please remember to click Mark as Installed if you use this modification.

Features:

• Uses vBulletin easy Product installer/updater/uninstaller
• The hack will always stay on bottom of the page.
• Seven hot links can be added to the hack.
• Most used links by your users are added in forum line links.
• Last # of new posts in marquee included. Number of last post can be set by administrator.
• Background image and color can be changed.
• Font color and size can be changed.
• Will help to get more registered users.
• The administrator can set the hack background color, border color, border size and hack width.

Installations:

1. download the product.
2. Unzip it.
3. Import XML file (as a product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product].
4. Go to hack options and edit it to suite your site link titles and urls, color etc...
5. Upload javh_bg_img.gif to your forum images folder or you can upload any other background image if you wish. Just make sure its height is 54 px.

v1.10 : close button been added to close hack until new session starts.




The hack has been tested on vb 3.7 on IE7 and FF2.0

I've also NEVER sees this warring before at all on my internet anti virus but anyway I've removed that image from my server just to make sure.

And yes it is floating menu with last # of posts.

The screenshots don't really show much....what they do show is all in another language, and the demo site doesn't show the hack from what I can see....sorry, I'll give this hack a miss. You need a better description and some better pictures.

That helped a lot, it is hard to tell what it was for if you don't know that language, but this description gave me a better idea. Along with the last demo site link you added. This is a very cool feature.
