Supermoderators?
Sorry for all my stupid polls, but I feel the best way to learn from a lot of the admins of there own forums here is to poll you.
So the question here is do you use Super Moderators or not? Is that level of heirarchy needed in your organization/site or do the majority of you just stick with Mods & Admins? |
i use S-Mod.. for me only... lol
--------------- Added [DATE]1214679514[/DATE] at [TIME]1214679514[/TIME] --------------- BTW, aren't you supposed to ask all these questions in the General vBulletin Discussions forum, where all general questions related to vBulletin are asked?!... read this forum's description a little... |
Yeah we use super mods, more as a reward/promotion than anything really.

I don't like super mod..
It is just like admin so why we use sp... |
We actually have :
Admin Moderators Rockerators Managers Manageresses I found it more useful, to exploit the talents of individual members for specific forums, so we appoint managers/esses I dont use supermods. The rockerators, is just a spin on (mod) aka Mods and Rockers Ozzy |
Four of us run the board. I have to have a backup admin. The other two need to be smods in order to watch over all the forums. Then we have mods for individual forums.
I'm surprised at the question as I can't see how you could run a forum without smods. Unless you raised a mods perms a lot but just didn't call them smods. |
The question is wrong actually. You should not start by asking which technical implementation you use, but what staff structure you have on your board, and then assign people the tools they need to do their job within the staff group. Always give people the minimum of tools/permissions they need to do their job.

Marco is right (Damn, that hurt to say! ;)). Giving too much power can sometimes lead to accidents (deleted threads, users, etc.) as well as swelled egos, which in turn can cause friction and problems later on down the road. Trust is a very important factor, also.
