Notifications
On a lot of 3.7 boards instead of PMS I see NOTIFICATIONS and a drop down menu- how is this done
|
It is default in 3.7.
|
is in the beta 6 version
|
Should be, I think But, why would you want to run a BETA?
|
What's confusing is that 3.7 shows PMs unless there is some notification.
|
You mean it says "Private Messages" when there isn't any notifications? That is correct, tho'

Not that I'm going to change mine. But it's confusing to a lot of people and I think they just want to know. One day they see it, the next they don't. |
Editing templates is easy - although easy is relative.

Referring to original posters question of pm drop down window/shows various pm categories. How is that done? No one answered his question. I run 3.7.2 and my pm doesnt have that drop down window showing. How do I turn it on so it shows all categories of pm's??

The OP is referring to the dropdown shown in the screenshot. It is shown when you have a notification, but will revert to the normal "0 unread messages" if you have none. I have modified my experimental board to always show this. Also disregard the "Unread Hidden Posts" - you will not see this with a default vBulletin.

Understand that. I have vb moods mod in that login user box. Is that why the PM notification drop down window doesnt work for me? What do I need to do to make the drop down window work whilst having vb moods work at the same time??
Thanks. |
Disable your moods modification to see if it shows up, if it doesn't, most likely your style has not been updated to the "3.7 level".
Also make sure you actually have a notification (eg. an unread PM), before you start testing. |
