What The ??? Please Help

One of my users is getting this message:

"you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation..."

As far as I am aware of, the group permissions have been enabled. So, why does this keep showing???

Because they don't have permission to access that page.

Is it only the one member? Are they a member of another usergroup than other members?

Yeah, it's only one member. So wait, if they are members of two groups, it conflicts?

If the permissions are different, possibly. If you need help, I'm available for about an hour.

The permissions are basically the same but looking at it now, the user is only part of one group. A group that I had just created for that matter.

It would be greatly appreciated.

I have made this part of the group he is under.

If you need anything else please let me know.

Should the permissions be different for the two different usergroups? It sort of looks like you're using your usergroups as a promotions system, correct? What specific forum is this person having a problem with? I haven't found one section yet that I can't see.

No, the permissions should be the same. Yeah, that is correct for the promotions.

He also stated that he can't post if I remember correctly. I did ask him and he didn't respond.

Why don't you just use the User Title Manager instead? (AdminCP > User Titles > User Title Manager)

That way you can have only a couple usergroups (Admin, Mod, Active Users, Noobs, etc.), which all have different levels of access, while at the same time allowing your members to increase their level through the User Titles and having it not affect the permissions of your board? Permissions can get real complicated when you have too many usergroups.

The reason for that being is because of the arcade. I have it set to limited plays for different groups.

Okay. Well, I'd recommend the Permissions Duplication Tool. Make the permissions all the same for all of the usergroups you want to be identical. That way access will be the same for the forums and you can customize the Arcade access on a group-by-group basis.

Yeah, they're all the same, basically.

Okay. Well good luck. If you need any help with actually adjusting the permissions, I'm available. I used to have a lot of problems with permissions when I first got started and I have it pretty straight in my head now.

In closing, a feature that might help you is Admin Log In As User. That'll allow you to log in as the user having the problem to see exactly what they're experiencing, rather than adjusting the permissions of the Test account to what you believe the permissions of the other user should be.
