iTrader 2.1.0 (Interim Release)
 

To hold people over until I get the full updated version with new features released, I'm posting this Interim version that has been tested / updated for vBulletin 3.7.x

There are no new features in this release, it is simply compatability updates and minor bug fixes. There are changes to both files & templates, but no changes to the iTrader tables.

Description:
iTrader for vBulletin has evolved from Trader Ratings for vB 3.0.x which evolved from Buy/Sell/Trade User Rating System for vB 2.x. This is a rating system for when members buy / sell / trade items from each other (presumably on a FS section of your forum). It is somewhat based on the honor system since there is no automatic way to truly tell if they did engage in a transaction. iTrader came about because it was a pain to try and maintain a single thread listing good / bad traders and so far has worked out quite well.

Features:

• Rate another member: Positive / Negative / Neutral
• Specify in each transaction: Buyer, Seller, or Trade
• Leave multiple comments about the deal
• Dates & IPs are all recorded to prevent abuse
• Specify a thread URL to the deal
• Advanced URL checking
• Display ratings over time
• Filter based on Buyer/Seller/Trade/or feedback they left for others
• Users can edit/delete ratings left for others (time based limitation)
• iTrader Admins can edit/delete anyone's ratings (just incase)
• PM notification when new rating or comment is left
• Per-usergroup permissions
• Lots of admin controllable options

After upgrading to the interim release, the iTrader acts like it's turned off, even though the permissions have been correctly set and the hack is active. Users can view the trader feedback in the Member Info page (I'm using MagnetiCat's hack - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178158 ) but the system itself can't be used. It says that "The iTrader system is currently closed." even though it's turned on.

Rated and Installed, its possible to run this Mod which 3.6.x ver ?

Is it possible to disable negative and normal feedback ratings, see I want to modify this for my personal use so I can have like a Bebo love system on my site where people get to give 1 love a day to sum1.

I have done this before using the old itrader system but it was awhile ago and I can't remember what stopped me using it but yea anyway I don't wanna trash your thread so can you tell me if it's possible to limit the number of feedbacks a user is allowed to give in one day and if negative and normal feedback can be disabled leaving only posative?

Well, if indeed iTrader is set to "open" in your vB Options, then there is probably a version mismatch somewhere. In the new release I've coded it to be a bit more explicit if there is a file vs DB difference, but with this (and previous releases) it just says closed to prevent any issues. I'm assuming you chose the overwite option when you updated? Make sure you are using all the latest files.

Last thing to check would be to enable debug mode on your forum (probably best to close the forum temporarily). Go to your vBulletin Options -> Version Info and Other Untouchables. Then look for iTrader Version Number, it *should* be 2.1.0, if it's not then click the 'edit' link and under the "Default" field change it to 2.1.0 and make sure the Data Validation Type is set to "Free".

If none of that works, let me know, but one of those has to be the problem.

Easiest way without modifying the code would be to just remove those options in the template where they input a rating.

On the instructions it doesnt say, except for vb 3.0 and 3.5, or wha tis it the same?

I was getting the same error - iTrader is Closed.
I followed your instructions above and iTrader version was set to 2 despite doing a correct install.
Changing it to 2.1.0 fixed the problem but I'm sure there is an error in the install somewhere.

I tried to upgrade again, used all the new files, overwrite on for the XML import, same deal. Activating the Debug mode is quite a hassle though due to the need to close the board, so I'll just patiently wait for the next version.

Hmm.. I'm looking at the XML file and it shows the setting group info is all correct. I don't know why it is not updating that field.

You don't *have* to close your board... It's just that way your members don't see all the pages with the debug info at the bottom... All you have to do is "close" it via the admincp option... I don't see what makes it so complicated.

Same as previous versions... Upload the files into their respective places, then update via the XML file, being sure to "overwrite"...

i tested the rating system, how do i now delete a trader rating i left as test?

Is it possible to install a Trade Manager to create and manage the trades?

how do i edit itrader link on member profile its very confusing instruction

Ive edited the templates and added the code but i still do-not see the itrader.

I added a link to the Navbar and i clicked it and it took me to MY itrader but when i go to a user profile i do not see Itrader and when i go to a thread i dont see anything relateing to itrader

How can we show the iTrade in postit ? I just installed it, everything works fine, but only thing is that it doesn't show up iTrade: # in postit

OK Im trying to install it, the instructions say Upload everything in the Upload folder including sub-folders....My question is where do I upload them to? I can do the XML transfer.

Havent checked yet, but usually, open the upload folder, highlight all of the items, select copy.

Goto FTP, and in forum directory i.e. forum/ paste the contents.

Yeah I don't have the joy of bulk FTP lol Im running off my one by one server upload lol..

But After I guessed(not sure it will work) I realize I can not use this.... Im 3.6.8 and it won't let me upload the XML says Im not 3.7 lol

Out of interest, what has been updated for 3.7? I have 2.0.1 installed and working fine with 3.7 with a few minor hacks, is it worth upgrading to this version or waiting for your final release?

I had the same problem with iTrader not opening. I did the edits you suggested in Debug Mode, but the version would continue to come up as 2. Took a chance and changed it to 2.1.0 right from the form field, without going into Edit, and it took care of the problem. Don't know what that means, or even if that was the smart thing to do, but in case it helps address the problem, figured I'd share. I'm on 3.7.1 PL2.

I have the 2.0.1 installed on my 3.7 board and it works great. I have been looking for a mod like the Itrader Extension though. Is there anyway we can get something like implemented on this one? All of my traders always ask for a top Itraders list of some kind. Itrader is a key part of my forum so that would be really great if you could?

I am putting this new button in my profiles. It is going to be linked to that persons Itrader page. But I cannot for the life of me figure out what to put to link in there. I have went through all the templates looking for all the different links and cannot figure it out.

I have got it to where there is a link but it goes to your own Itrader page. I need it to go to the Itrader page that the profile belongs to.

Does anyone know how I can do this? I would greatly appreciate the help.
