Upgrade problem
I am trying to upgrade from vbulletin 3.5.4 to 3.7.0. But i have been getting this error since I began
Code:
Step 1) Upgrade to vBulletin 3.5.5 Complete! |
Try disabling your plugins through the config file perhaps? Edit config.php and add this line right under <?php
PHP Code:
|
Also ensure you have overwritten the old files with a copy of the new 3.7 files.
|
that didnt solve it, the error still persists.
at opserty, I have overwritten them. |
Take another look at the adminfunctions.php file, around line 3180 (where the error says the first declaration is), cuz my adminfuctions.php file has this on line 3180:
$vbulletin->forumcache["$forumid"]['lastprefixid'], It has nothing to do with the function delete_product. |
there has to be some kind of explainantion to this...
|
Open a support ticket @ vBulletin.com.
|
even support has not been able to help me....I have globally disabled hooks, uploaded version 3.7.1....still I cry...someone help..
|
Why won't support help you? That seems a bit odd.
If it were me, I'd check for Suspect Files and remove all unnecessary files. I'd copy all the files from my server to my computer (I've already done that, but if you haven't..) and search for "delete_product" in all the files and make sure the functions isn't called twice. If I'm positive it is not, I'd made sure the file that "delete_product" is in is not somehow called twice in another file or in a plugin that is called multiple times on a page (like postbit ones). Not a fun thing to chase down (I hate these sort of problems!), but that's the way I'd go about it. |
Can you post the reason as to why vBulletin Support won't help you? Seems very odd...
The API suggests that the function should be declared in adminfunctions_plugin.php and not adminfunctions.php, can you post the Line 3180 of your adminfunctions.php file? |

Are you experiencing FTP problems? Because it may be that your files are not being uploaded completely or some of them are being missed due to the time out, you may wish to speak to your host to see if they can figure out why the FTP is timing out.
|
I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Turns out function delete_product was declared both on line 3180 on adminfunctions.php and line 21 on adminfunctions_plugin.php, but this line throws errors for vbulletin 3.5 upgrades. So I just commented line 21 to 48 in that file. Thanks Lynne and Opserty. And everyone. |
Just wanted to comment that line 3180 of the adminfuctions.php file in 3.7 is NOT the delete_product function. I think you are using an older version of your adminfunctions.php file. You need to make sure all your uploaded files are for version 3.7 (or 3.7.1) or you are going to have more problems along the way.

You haven't solved your problem though maestrodamuz, you've merely averted some symptoms. Check the top of your adminfunctions.php file and it will tell your the vBulletin version number of the file, (most definately will not be 3.7.x). You need to figure out why you're files are not being overwritten correctly. It maybe that you aren't uploading the correct files or to the correct place or it may be that there is something wrong with the FTP transfer/FTP Client.
You need to look into this as it will only cause problems in the future if core files are updated and you are using older files. |
