any shot or demo, Sniper? :)
|
I think my example explains what this does.
|
Sniper - You are my hero! :D
So far it seems to work... but I have not yet tested thoroughly. Nominated. |
Neat idea, thanks!
|
Thanks, makes it a little more useful now.
|
This can develop in a fantastic add-on for VB. Many thanks to the author. Seems to be working ok in my 3.7. :)
One question only: It makes profile fields linked only in memberinfo pages. Can it do the same also inside postbit and memberlist? |
I found a tiny bug: When you have a 'Single-Line Text Box' it displays the input correct and the inputs are clickable - but it also shows other user fields based on 'Single-line text box' on every users profile page - which they didn't filled out.
In other words: User fields: 1) Your car 2) Your pet User A: inputs only his car - which is shown correctly but he didn't input anything about his pet. But user field 2's question/title is still shown on his profile page. |
thanks! been wwaiting for this.
great job..simple and useful. :) << hope there is a fix for the bug ;) |
Hi,
great improvement, thanks very much. Nominated of course. Little improvement suggestion but probably difficult to realize: some german umlauts can be spelled in different ways. Example: ? or ss Like in Fussball (Soccer). It can also be spelled like this: Fu?ball Others: ? = ae ? = oe ? = ue So two queries should be launched: http://www.domain.com/forum/members/...eld3=fu%DFball http://www.domain.com/forum/members/...ield3=fussball vBSEOs rewriting code must have a snippet for it somewhere. all the best, Sacha |
I really like this mod...
however, whenever I click one of the profile 'tags' it returns 1325 members - regardless of whether there is a match or not. For example, here is the link that is produced: http://www.domain.com/forums/memberl...&field3=travel No matter what field 3 contains (or any other field for that matter), it results in 1325 members being returned (out of over 14,000). It appears to have installed correctly, but doesn't appear to be working as designed - at least for me. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! |
Great, I've been looking for it ever since I dropped vsinteractive profiles - this one does the job for me.
Installed. |
Thank you so much for this yet another leapfrog towards a community, at the cost of a single-step and painless installation.
Nominated, Voted, Installed with gratitude. However: multi-line fields are not being analyzed for matches, and this is only a week after I converted most single-line text into text-area in order to encourage our members to be more expressive and verbose on their profile page, which is another necessity of successful social networks. Also: In response to the German bit about different writing variations, maybe you can use the translation feature to accomplish just that, i.e. "forum", "forums", and "Foorumi" will become one, as "astrology", "astrologic", "astrological", "astro", etc. Thank you so much again for this great implementation of a must-have functionality. |
Installed :)
thanks a lot! |
very useful modification
what can i do to make not searchable profile fields not linked? |
Great idea thanks :)
|
Great Mod, but nearly every Profilefield is linked, but the interests not. Fix?

I hope for an update... ;)
|
Ditto... ;)
|
Any updates on this one?
|
I liked the previous mod that did the same but with options and I have installed this one but would really like an update. Just the same THANKS for your good work.
|
Thank You ..
|
I like it, but I do not want to make the tags show up for all fields. Just the interests.
|
Installed.

update coming today sometime
|
Thanks for the update. amazing work!
|
update working perfectly :) Thanks
|
Thank you for your update! Unfortunately not all kind of types of fields works with special characters.
Single line textbox = works okay Multiple line textbox = works okay The rest have the same two bugs: 1) E.g. the letter ? becomes %F8 2) two words or more has a '+' inbetween like: "word1+word2" instead of "word1 word2" So the bugs goes for: Multiple selection menu, Radio buttons, single selection menu and check boxes... I hope that is an easy fix as these things didn't occur in the 2007 version. I doubled tested on a fresh install and with an established site. Other than that your hack is for sure one of the most usefull. I have waited for an update for months.... :D |
Great job!
|
Okay, carefully reading your introduction text - you have not promised more than multiple line textbox... Hopefully the rest of the types will also work some day....
|
its more of a language problem, if you remove the urlecode function from the xml it should fix the problem but if you don't know how, let me know and I'll post one without url encode (which adds the + sign etc)
|
Hi this is a great mod.
Is it possible that the profile fields can be links in memberlist and postbit also? |

Memberlist ?! - I have seen people being asking about this before - for years - and as far as I know - no one have yet created a mod "tagging" user fields in the member list. You have done it in a few hours!! A shame I cannot nominate two times.... |
Thanks! I love this mod :D Nominated for MOTM
|
Hmm.. I followed the install instructions, but after, nothing happens.. any ideas? Do the mod work with custom profile fields in memberinfo?
