Forum Category Icons on Forum Home
Here is a hack that will add icons to your forum categories on the forum home page.
History: I was the originator of this hack back in the vBulletin 1.x days and decided to revive this as I didn't see one here and I needed it for my new site. vBulletin 4.x.x version here. Please click install if you want support for this mod. Enjoy! |

Is there any way to add icon to each forum ?

I installed this mod and after configuring it in the vbulletin options, I went the the Forum Manager area. I do not see any options for adding the forum icons.
What am I missing? |

OK, I finally got around to adding icons after installing this mod. I added my first icon to a category. Lo and Behold, it added a new column on the right hand side of the forums and put the icon there.
Look at my screencap. Ideas? |
OK, I figured out why the icon did not show up next to the forum category title? I did not make the change int he template for that style.
However, I still have the additional column on on the right with the category icon in it. See my screen cap again. Ideas? |

You need to go back and check the template edit you made, it is in the wrong place. |
I figured it out. Somehow, I had the <if condition="$forum[forumiconimg]"><td class="tcat"><img src="$vboptions[forumiconimg_url]/$forum[forumiconimg]" alt="" border="0" /></td></if> line in there twice.
|
My forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost
I have no: Find: <td class="tcat" colspan="<if condition="$vboptions[showmoderatorcolumn]">6<else />5</if>"> and Now ? PHP Code:
|
I placed mine after
Code:
<if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']"> |
can you make it for the forums?

Fantastic mod! WE use banners along the top of each categoryv and using this mod could stretch them right along the top of the category and lose the text, brilliant :).
Do however have a coupla problems, dunno if can help me here. Now I'm using the images instead of the text for the category headers, all the text (forum name & description) have been put at the top of my forums, do you know where I can edit this? Also it seems on insisting on putting the forum header above my first banner?? Have attached screenshots of the banners in action, plus what I'm talking about re the forum text. Marked as installed and nominated for MOTM :). |
