Do you allow your users to be invisible or not?

I've generally been against the option but don't know, don't care really.

Just curious what others do.

No, I don't allow my users to be invisible. I do, however, allow myself and my mods to be invisible and many times we are.

I allow invisibility... to me it isn't such a big deal if they don't want themselves seen - I give them their space for privacy if they want... I was in another board before which didn't allow invisibility, and one of my friends who also visited that board will just log off and view the forum as a "guest", so that they won't see her in "users online" when she views the new topics...

Call it a weird eccentricity, but some people just don't wanna be seen, I guess ;)

I allow it, I don't use it myself but I know people do.

No, I really don't see the point in it. I also don't think mods/admins should have the choice either, as it just makes your forums seem deserted.

I only allow Admins. No one else needs to be hiding from anyone.

I hate that feature.

I don't run any big forums, so I like everyone who is active to be visible.

I allow my super mod to use it sometimes since she gets mad and quits if she can't use it. :eek:

I had a SuperMod just like that. Notice I said "had".

I don't see how being invisible can hamper the productivity of a user - so I wouldn't ever consider disabling it.

I disable it. ONly mod's and supermods can use it if they want

however, none have chosen to.

we're a very friendly community and i don't see the need for people to Lurk while hidden.

I allow it - had some stalkers from outside the board before now. Mods and admins can see invisible folk, so not so much a problem. Some of my mods use it, but I don't.

Like I said above, I really don't see the point in it. Ok, it's alright if you have a big board, but for new or small forums -- why would you want to make your forums seem deserted ?

Ohhhh I actually thought you meant if I would like to be invisible in real life or not....I wanna gonna say rob a bank but then I read the post.

anyhoo...yes I allow them to be invisible, no biggie to me really... I have that top 10 thing where all the activity is shows...ever since I installed it, it has helped force people to post (kinda competitive thing) lol

We allow it for everyone - kind of funny though when members go invisible but keep posting...what's the point :rolleyes:.
