nice :D

for further versions, I need an option for show ads in last post or every 10 post on a site.

gwerzal 05-05-2008 10:38 AM

I have just installed it but the ad is not showing.

You can see where the ad is meant to be with the text wrapped around it but the ad doesn't show.

Edit - Got it working now. dont no what was playing up but its all looking good now.

Cheers dude

If you create a new google adsense takes almost 10 minutes to show up.

Thanks all.

Icy 05-06-2008 05:06 AM

Nice hack :D. Installed! As hcmagix said an option for show ads after X posts would be nice :)

elmati 05-06-2008 05:18 AM

Right now Google adsense just let you put 3 ads with same code per page.
I'll make this option for you :)

Next update:
Exclude forums
Show ads after X posts.

Cooming soon! :)

elmati 05-07-2008 05:54 PM

- Minor bugs fixed

Best Regards!

duplu 05-07-2008 07:30 PM

Thanks for this working well on my site. The only problem I have is that the ads sometime overwrite a post that has been quoted.

There's an example on this page of my site http://www.fruit-emu.com/forums/site...tml#post117021

elmati 05-07-2008 07:52 PM

Ok, im checking that because just happens in IE...
I'll try to fix today.

thanx for the feedback!

duplu 05-07-2008 08:32 PM

I see what you mean it works OK in Firefox. It's not working for me in Safari.

Icy 05-08-2008 03:24 AM

Updated! Thanks :)

figu120 05-08-2008 03:30 AM

that's because in IE widths works different, and the Quote bbcode is a ' width="100%" ' table, and IE makes the 100% to the other side of the POST itself, while firefox and any good browser will see that 100% is to where the floated div starts. the workaround for that would be to set a fixed width of X% or Xpx to the table (only for ie)

elmati 05-08-2008 12:48 PM

Hi all!

yeah it's works with both templates: postbit & postbit_legacy

I'm workin on a whole upgrade to fix the bbcodes issue

Many thanks to those who installed the plugin
Muchas gracias a los que instalaron el plugin

fmfa-online 05-08-2008 02:57 PM

Instalado gracias!!!

elmati 05-08-2008 03:01 PM

Ok, i have implemented a temporary fix to quote overlap issue in IE.

Just upload the product again and dont forget to check rewrite to yes.
Go to product settings and add a message area width.

I hope that will help until i find a new way to fix it :)

Thanks, this works perfectly for me. I prefer the way this display in Safari better than how it looked correctly before in Firefox.

elmati 05-08-2008 04:03 PM

Thanks Duplu :)

I'm workin on a better upgrade

Best Regards

Great Mod! Is it possible in a future version to enable this mod to display ads only for certain user group?
Thanx!

It already does this. There is a setting in the admincp where you put the numbers of the usergroups you want to see the ads.

michaelsilvia 05-12-2008 04:41 AM

Very nice! If I could make a suggestion. Please provide an option where you can exclude specific usergroups. I have a premium membership on my site and one of the benefits is no ads.

Hi, the plugin has this feature!

Btw... Bug finded...
There is a bug when using the quickreply and the new post created has advertising. That issue shows a blank page... I am still looking for a solution.

If anyone find a possible solution please share :)

wtrk 05-13-2008 03:10 AM

turn it on and off per forum would be awesome.

dancue 05-13-2008 09:14 PM

Ok, elmati. I got a request for you.

I want to be able to use two different ad codes depending on what style I'm using. If I use a fixed style (or a style specified in AdminCP) it would result in one code, and a fluid style would result in another.

One possible set up would be like this:

Ad Code 1:
Ad Code 2:
Select A Style for AdCode 1: (Click and hold Cntrl to select multiple)
Select A Style for AdCode 2: (Click and hold Cntrl to select multiple)

What do you think?

dancue 05-13-2008 09:16 PM

Also, does this use any iframes or float elements?

Yeah, That could be a nice add on.
Added to the todo list :)

Just use a div to contain the ads, but some ads uses a iframes.
And that's iframes are causing troubles when you use the quick reply and your post will have advertising. I'm trying to fix that.

Thanks all for your comments and sugestions :)

dancue 05-14-2008 12:58 PM

I asked about the iframes and float elements because someone mentioned that one of these is against google policy.

Does your mod violate any terms by google?

elmati 05-14-2008 01:08 PM

No, this mod respect the terms of google and every advertisement networks like linkshare.com.

your code will be something like this:
<!-- message -->
<div>
<div style="float:right">ADS CODE</div>
<div>Post message</div>
</div>
<!-- /message -->

That way is used in a lot of portals and websites without problems.

Best regards!

dancue 05-14-2008 01:14 PM

Thank you for clearing that up!

Can't wait for your next update! When do you think you'll have that one out?

elmati 05-14-2008 01:33 PM

i got a full time work so i'll work on this weekend :)

thanks for your interest.
Best regards!

dancue 05-14-2008 01:36 PM

ok. Thank you.

rootnik 05-16-2008 01:05 PM

These would be very useful options:

1. Location: last post.

2. Disable ad in first post if thread is sticky.

3. "All usergroups" setting. Allot of mods use 0 to equal all groups.

Very nice mod, installed.

quarum 05-16-2008 02:12 PM

This seems to scruntch up the text in the posts - it pushes the text all to the left. Any idea what I missed that might cause this?

intensecool 05-16-2008 02:31 PM

Sir,

Exclude forums is not working for me...As i have put the forum id's which i do not want the ads to appear in postbit but it appears to be on the whole forum

Can you fix this

elmati 05-20-2008 02:09 AM

Hi all,

I'm fixin all the issues to the next release...
Please be patient cuz i dont have full time to work with this :(

Thanks for all the C&C!
