I have permission to make this mod.

I threw this together after finding this game. I believe it will work with any version of vbulletin 3. This game was made by RocketXL.

If for some reason someone wants to add permissions and such to this, just ask.

Installation:
Upload the guitarhero.php, and the gh3widget.swf files to your forums root directory.
Then upload the product.

To add a link to the navbar:
Find:
Add Above:
Next, go into your AdminCP and under your vBulletin Options, Find the Guitar Hero settings and edit them to your liking.

To Upgrade, reupload the files and override the product.

Fails to load, just sits there loading.

Having us pull the flash file from an external site is a bad idea. We have to depend on your site to be up for our site to function. Rocket site is down. You need to distribute the mod with the .swf file and if u arnt allowed to do that, then you shouldnt of posted this in the first place.

Ok, I updated the files. You now upload the swf file aswell.

Well, while I'm loving this because it's about the only game I play, I have to agree that Rocket probably doesn't want the swf distributed as it's their way to get traffic to their site, not yours. I'd probably suggest getting permission from the for this mod and including that permission with the mod so there is no question as to it violating their usage / copyright.

Its considered a "strategy" to release it .. its part of thier advertising
yet ripping the flash file is kinda against the law -_-

Well I defenitely hit the notes.... but it doesnt count for some reason.

You guys who can't hit the notes.....you are hitting the enter/return button as you press your numerical keys arn't you? ;)

Great idea and all...but slightly worried about the copyright side of things.

Also, does it lag or get a bit jumpy, or is it just my system?

Yes I hit the enter button at the same time as I pressed the numerical keys. It's the same way with the game...you hit the strum bar at the same time as the keys. It's still not working. Not on his or her site or my own. So I uninstalled. :(

I would love to install this but I think Twilkey should contact RocketXL first to ask permission. Maybe if they put a link to Rocket's website on the instructions page it would be ok?

I'll wait till copyright agreements are made from the author to the creators of the guitar hero concept.

For anyone that would like to know, I have upgraded this mod. It now comes with a nice shinny section in the vBulletin Options area. You can now enable or disable the mod, as well as set the disabled message. You also have the ability to restrict usergroups from using the mod.

do we have to replace any files or just overwrite the xml to upgrade?

Replace the files and override the xml.

Is there a way we can maybe save the scores on our own database? Rocketxl doesn't know how to keep their scores fair (someone has 900000000 and 99999999999999).

I emailed RocketXL to find out how I can work with the scores, but they havent emailed me back yet.

Ohhhhh...you mean the number keys above the letter keys. Not the ones over to the side that the number lock key helps us out with. Duhhhh. I'm sorry. I got it now. It's working like a charm. It's a little slow but soooo worth it. :)

Apart from uploading the swf, which actually links to the site !!!!!Within its FLA source, the actual xml, is the direct embed paste from Rockets website.

I would imagine this piece of software is actually copyright misuse, due to the fact you are circulating their code.
