Cyb - Auto Reply

Info:
I'm using this to automatically welcome users in my "Introductions" sub-forum. You can customize messages and use it for any other auto-replying needs. You can write several messages (separated by |) and they will be used randomly in auto-replies. This work with subjects too. There are three different Sets of subjects/messages to use in different forums. You can set product to not reply to threads started by listed members, turn on/off signatures, etc... See screenshots for details about features...

To get this working don't forget to:
-Set forum id(s) in product options
-Set poster id(s) in product options

Otherwise it will not work or you'll get error messages.

Note:
-This executes 1 simple query on forumdisplay but only in selected forums.
-Same simple query is also executed when user searches for new posts.

Installation:
-Import XML file (as product) through AdminCP: Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

To set options:
Go to: vBulletin Options > Cyb - Auto Reply

Versions:
v1.0 - Aug 25. 2007.
-Initial release
v1.1 - May 03. 2008.
-Compatible with vBulletin 3.7
-Minor bugs fixed
v1.2 - Apr 24. 2009.
-New: Three different Sets of subjects/messages to use in different forums
-New: Set if signature will be shown in reply
-Fixed several minor bugs and compatibility issues, optimized for better performance

Hi,

do you plan to make it work with prefixes ?
I mean, I've 3 main forums and no sub-forums but one different prefix for members presentation. So, It would be great if members posting in the main forum, with "presentation" specific prefix are welcomed by this auto reply.

Thanks for your answer !

Thanks Cybernetec Will Give It A Try LAter

Edit: Solved nvm

Good Mod now~ :D

May I add a suggestion:

Enable/Disable: Signature displayed at auto reply. I like to keep mine disabled, but it would be a good feature to add for others.

Found a error with the mod, when the user goes back to the main forums page it does not update with the new posted message until you go into the thread and see a new reply can this be fixed?

For some reason it sometimes double and even triple posts.

echo2kk5 05-24-2008 12:42 AM

How exactly do we add our own phrases? by clicking on the message link and adding it to the blank box? sorry, haven't done a lot of these type mods.

Hey Cyb,

Love your hacks, have several of them installed - always top notch!

I'm looking for a hack that will post a new thread whenever someone becomes a Paid Subscriber on my board. I have the Happy Birthday hack, and I want this to work pretty much the same way as Birthday and Auto Reply. It either needs to detect new subscribers, or just new members of a specific Usergroup (in this case, one someone becomes a Paid Subscriber, I add them to the Premium Usergroup).

Can you tell me if the Auto Reply hack can accomplish what I need? If not, is there any simply ways to modify it? It not, might you be willing to release another hack that does this? I'm guessing it would be easy, just a different query.

Appreciate any advice.

intrigue 06-18-2008 03:02 PM

same problem as post 13 looks like you add a new post but do not update forum table
thanks

lazserus 06-24-2008 08:32 PM

As always, great hack. I have a suggestion, though. The admin area needs a little more functionality. It would be ideal to have it so an admin can setup a series of auto-replies per forum, instead of a set of random replies to a list of forums. For instance, if someone has a Support forum, they wouldn't want a "Welcome {username}" as a response. Great idea, but functionality is EXTREMELY limited.

rapidphim 06-25-2008 11:10 PM

Where there is a new registered member, will this mod auto create thread to a specify forum??? just want to make sure I understood the mod correctly. Thanks much.

Valter 06-25-2008 11:19 PM

This will reply to new threads in specified forum.

For example if you have sub-forum where newbies makes their first posts to say "hello, i'm new", this hack can do that boring task to reply "Helo, welcome aboard, enjoy your visits..." etc... you can set several messages, hack will use them randomly in replies.

rapidphim 06-26-2008 02:30 AM

Is there a way that we can create a mod so that it will auto generate a new thread on a specific forum like a welcome thread for every new registered member?

spacetv 07-06-2008 01:55 AM

well i installed this like showen in file and it;s not working

helpmehost 07-06-2008 01:10 PM

This is a great mod but one problem I noticed that if some body replies to the user post still the auto reply works

helpmehost 07-06-2008 01:37 PM

one more suggestions I wish I could enable that during specific time for example night time
when I am not online or sundays

honcho 07-06-2008 02:44 PM

hi thanx for hack ive installed it
but how do i set a custom post please i have a post that i always make and wanna use that

Valter 07-06-2008 03:11 PM

Go to hack settings, there are links to phrases you need to edit. Don't forget to separate messages by "|".

BigDog56 07-07-2008 12:47 PM

Works great! But doesn't work with the 'forced into' mod.

BigDog56 07-07-2008 01:25 PM

I even tried to move a thread to the into forum and i could not get it to work. Only a new thread postd in that forum seems to work.

yes if some body replies to the user post still the auto reply works

Need solution to fix it as soon as possible.

Thanx to this great mod

helpmehost 07-12-2008 03:23 PM

It is a problem, I want to use this mod when I am not online, I usually reply fast
I wanted to set the reply for 30 min
so if I reply before that the automatic reply should turn off

also interested in putting some time for it so that for example when I am not online
or on vacation or during night time I can make it work

ShackMaster 07-13-2008 11:01 PM

In the options:

Edit Subject and Messages
-Separate different messages with | to use them randomly
-{1} will be replaced with thread starter username, {2} with forum name

Is there a way to make {3} call in a custom profile field I created for a member's alias, which is there nickname? Or make {1} do this instead? I generally like to address members by their alias if it is different from their username.

Thanks!
