Light Blue

Light Blue Style

4/30/08 - Upgraded to 3.7.0 Gold.

Removed until further notice.

dreamache 04-27-2008 10:12 PM

An issue I see here that would drastically improve this is the forum status icons, they're aliased with white jagged borders which doesn't look good against the blue. :)

Jasem 04-28-2008 03:02 AM

Thank you

Still my favorite of your skins, Mark :)

"against the blue" as in, against the light blue background.

markbolyard 04-28-2008 01:56 PM

I've removed some of the white around the edges. If you want feel free to do a "save-as" right from my forum demo. I don't know if it looks much better as I'm on a laptop and sometimes white edges like that are not as noticable. I think I've got them looking a little better. Of course, you can always replace the status icons with others of your liking.

Thanks for the compliments.

Player-63 04-28-2008 04:29 PM

Thank you markbolyard, This is a very nice style :)

Thanks

thanks

Updated. If you installed this with 3.7 RC4, there is no need to re-install after upgrading to 3.7 Gold.

Renz 04-30-2008 04:57 PM

I love this skin. I just installed it but seem to be unable to add extra buttons to my nav bar as I had before.

Also to change to my logo I just have u use my own psd?

markbolyard 04-30-2008 08:07 PM

Look under the Do Not Upload folder. There are PSDs for the buttons and the Logo.

As for adding to the navbar, there wouldn't be any reason why you can't add additional links to the navbar. Just realize, that the navigation is in the header, and not the navbar template.

Freddy.k 04-30-2008 09:20 PM

cool Merci

Oh that was the problem.. i was looking in the navbar. Thank you very much.

duckdodger 05-01-2008 03:15 PM

Hi,

I am testing this style and it looks great except I need to use vbadvanced portal and with this style there is no spacing between the header and the homepage modules when the navbar is turned off. How might I fix this?

Thanks.

markbolyard 05-01-2008 03:30 PM

Can you PM me a link to your forum so I can have a look at what you got. I don't use vbadvanced, but I'm sure there is a simple fix for it.

markbolyard 05-05-2008 11:46 AM

The fix for adding space after the header with vbadvanced was:

Add this code to the end of your header template:

[code]
<if condition="THIS_SCRIPT == 'adv_index'">
<br />
<br />
</if>
[code]

Add additional <br /> tags as needed.

higge 05-05-2008 05:04 PM

Thanks. Installed.

Two things I've noticed,

At the bottom there is no link to mainpage "www.mysite.com", all others are.
At the top "www.mysite.com/forum" is not clickable.

But I like the style.

markbolyard 05-05-2008 05:15 PM

Yes, well given I wanted to have the nav at the bottom look as similar to the top nav as possible, I left it out. What would probably be best would be to add a Home link before USERCP in each navbar.

Don't know if you are working on your forum at the moment, but the blueburst images are missing from your vbadvanced page :(

higge 05-05-2008 07:32 PM

Yes Mark, I am trying hard to get them there :)

I don't know what's up with those, but I try to read, read, read heh.

markbolyard 05-06-2008 12:44 AM

Sent you a PM. Hopefully should have helped you out.

markbolyard 05-06-2008 10:40 AM

Just realized while looking at someone's forum that there are two status icon images that were needed. Here they are for those that have downloaded the style:

Hey Mark,

Great style. My only issue is with the 'New Thread', 'Post reply', 'Edit', 'Quote' etc buttons.

The font is horrible and actually looks a bit distorted. It looks like there is a sligh shadow behind the words but it doesnt work! They don't look sharp at all.

What would be great is if you could indent the writing. Making it clearer to read. Something similar to the 'Back to top' button on each forum. That would be perfect!!

Is there any chance you can change these? I will donate for the change :)

Apart from that.. NICE WORK :D

PGAmerica 05-08-2008 05:19 PM

I love this style. Awesome job!!
Question, I see advertising built into the style. Where do I go to modify it to put in my own advertising instead?

markbolyard 05-09-2008 01:05 AM

NOTE: To Remove Advertisements, you simply go to the ADMINCP - > Style Manager - > Edit this styles templates - >
Revert all Ad location Templates to the default vBulletin value, or if you would like to use your own ads in place of the sample ads, edit each ad location template and replace the ad code with your own.

This style has two ad locations that can be modified in the HEADER and FOOTER templates. Be sure to update / remove / change to your preferences.

Navbar/header

I'm trying to add a link to the navbar, but when I add the link it will seperate the image the links sit in front of.
how can I add a link without breaking the image?

Here's what I am trying to add.
Code:

<td><if condition="THIS_SCRIPT == 'adv_index'"><a href="forum/index.php$session[sessionurl_q]"> Forum <else /> <a href="../$session[sessionurl_q]"> Home </a></td></if>

markbolyard 05-11-2008 01:57 AM

Code:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><if condition="THIS_SCRIPT == 'adv_index'"><a href="forum/index.php$session[sessionurl_q]"> Forum <else /> <a href="../$session[sessionurl_q]"> Home </a></td></if>
You just needed to set the class on your td tag.

joakandr 05-11-2008 03:50 AM

Looks much darker in Firefox

joakandr 05-11-2008 05:06 PM

Anyway to fix for Firefox?

Odd. I tried that, must have mispelled or left something out..
Got it working after pasting your code in..

Thanks.

In firefox change so much... =/

Dashman 05-12-2008 09:22 AM

Can someone post a screenshot of how it looks in firefox?

markbolyard 05-12-2008 03:12 PM

Yes, for some reason in firefox the colors are darker (for the css portion, not the images). I did a little research on the firefox color problem, but haven't found a solution. for some reason with this particular color palette firefox renders them a little different. You will just have to view it in both IE and Firefox and decide if the difference it to great for you to use.

joakandr 05-12-2008 08:54 PM

Ahhh... but I really like this layout :P

Dashman 05-13-2008 07:10 AM

I tested this last night in Firefox and im more than happy with the results. You can hardely notice it!!! I was more worried about the layout breaking but it seems fine. Nice one :)

markbolyard 05-15-2008 01:54 PM

Yes, the style isn't "broken" at all. It just simply has a slight color difference when viewed in Firefox which is a color rendering issue I believe with firefox. They may fix it, it might not be a bug and IE might be the problem, but either way, It's still a nice style ;)

Dashman 05-18-2008 09:18 AM

I have installed this style and there is an error.

I have tested this on various computers and everyone shows the same error..

Please look at the attached image:

Attachment 80858

"document.forms.dstform is null or not an object"

What can be causing this??!

markbolyard 05-18-2008 10:37 AM

Have you made changes to the style? That error would indicate that the DST correction in the footer has either been removed or modified... thats my best guess. What version of IE are you using?
