Getting database error please help urgently
 

wen im trying to edit usergroup im getting this database error

This is from a modification you have installed. Disable your plugins to see if it goes away. Then turn them on one by one to figure out which one is causing the problem. Then post in the modification thread to see if someone can help you fix it (or read the thread to see if it's already been fixed).

Did you disable them through config.php? edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

To completely disable mods, you also need to take a look in includes/xml and remove any xml files in there that are from modifications you have installed.

Have you installed any modifications with MGC in the title or as an abbreviation? That seems to be tho one that is causing you problems. Also, make sure you haven't edited anythinginside of the file from vB. You may have forgotten to remove the code when you uninstalled the product.

yeah i had installed MGC shoutbox but uninstalled it cause it didn;t work

It would appear that MGC Chat Box doesn't uninstall the tables it added. Try running this query:

ALTER TABLE x DROP mgccustomusergroupperms;

Just replace x with the table name (which i don't see in your first post and I cannot look up right now) and make sure you include your table prefix. That should fix your problem.

Your table name is not 1054, I don not see it in the error message above. As I said, I can't look it up, so you won't be able to do it until someone tells you the name or you find it out yourself.

how do i find the table name??

Go into the maintenance section and choose the back up option. I'd there a usergroup table within that list?

I cannot look it up, but can you post the install codes from the product XML inside of this thread.

It's already dropped ;). The error says that the column does not exist. You have forgotten to remove the bitfield_*.xml file in the /includes/xml directory.
