This hack provides a gateway from vBulletin forums to the USENET (or any NNTP server). It allows forum members to read newsgroup messages as well as to send posts to the newsgroups. In a nutshell, it turns vBulletin forums into a basic function news reader. it's work only under Microsoft Windows Server !

I am using the old hack on 3.5.4. I'd like to move to 3.7 and the message presentation using your mod is much nicer!

Does this work with 3.7?

This would be great under Linux :). I think you will find most of the vb market is under linux.

I can try to compile it for Linux but before I need the Developer add the attachments supports otherwise I cannot use it! :(

Where is the .exe?

I have tested this with an exe I found for the 1.02 version

It works well, very low server load. It handles the messages better than the old hack as far as appearance of quoted text is concerned.

The major problem is it does not update the post index after importing the messages, so you have to rebuild forum/thread information manually.

A kill file would be great to filter out porn an advertisement terms.

If those two items above are added/fixed, this would be a great NNTP to use.

Hopefully the author returns.

about the kill file i just make it! i will put a new version of vbnntpgateway here the next week after fully test it !

i not go too much on this forum cause i fight with the vbulletin.org member because they "punish me" cause i upload a file without .php in it !

yes, it's work perfectly under vb3.8 (but you will need the last version)

the probleme is still that it's work only on windows server :(
