First of all BlindMan... what did u see?
and second, I have the same problem... I double check my cookies settings on my browsers, they make me run the impex tool and didn't solve the issue... so can somebody help us?

Guest210212002 04-06-2008 06:34 PM

Did you modify the login form at all? Try logging in using the default theme.

iogames 04-06-2008 06:38 PM

Not in my case... I'm using default... [slightly modified]
you just type user+pass+enter and nothing happens... then you click on any link and it shows like you're signed up

blindman4556 04-06-2008 06:41 PM

it should have nothing to do with the skin and i dont think its fair that this garbage is doing this what is the impex tool? yea ive even tried to change the direct on it and it still gives it... so i know its not that .. any other ideas?

Lynne 04-06-2008 07:08 PM

Are you logging in on www.yoursite.com but the login script is run from yoursite.com (or vice versa)? Do you have a test account for us to try? And what are your cookie settings?

blindman4556 04-06-2008 07:40 PM

forums are under http://www.likenota.com/forums/ the site redirects to http://www.likenota.com/forums/ from http://www.likenota.com/ and what should i have my cookie settings set to ? there set to 900

Lynne 04-06-2008 07:54 PM

I'm talking about Path to Save Cookies and Cookie Domain.

blindman4556 04-06-2008 08:00 PM

Lynne 04-06-2008 08:12 PM

No, I think that one should be at "/". The second one I mentioned should be at "(blank)"

Do you not have a test account we can try out?

blindman4556 04-06-2008 08:27 PM

I already asked you a question in trying to help you. Do you have the problem on the default skin? If you edited the login form, it would stop working. You should also try turning on no-cache headers and seeing if it fixes it, in which case it would be a problem with your browser, not your code.

And what I'm saying is that if you're going to ask for assistance on a site that's comprised of mostly adult professionals, making them type that password probably isn't the best way to go about it.

Lynne 04-06-2008 09:44 PM

I can't help if it's IE only since I don't have IE, sorry.

(I would think a bit about asking for help and then using the password you did. Most people would not find that very funny.)

iogames 04-06-2008 09:46 PM

well I'm back, I went to the Chinese food and come back :D
So Lynne, I remember setting those parameters and running the Impex to set the default settings back but I have that problem like for 4 months now...
user: tester
pass: tester
and Both major browsers do the same, even when I change computers [and why everybody is so tense here?]

blindman4556 04-06-2008 09:53 PM

anyone else have this issue or know what to do to fix it ?

so you guys just figured to ignore this topic? this is a serious issue if more then one person is having it id think it would be in the best interest of the community and of the vbulletin world if this problem was solved.

Marco van Herwaarden 04-07-2008 05:53 AM

You never responded if this is the same using a default style. You can not expect people to help you, if you do not want to listen to their suggestions.

iogames 04-07-2008 12:55 PM

When u download your copy of vBulletin, they gave u 2 files: . vBulletin newest version, and the second Impex... inside the folder there's a file named tools.php... you upload that file to your root folder, then you run the file www.yoursite.com/tools.php it will give you a menu with many options... then :p I forget what's next

blindman4556 04-17-2008 04:45 PM

okay soo still no help.. no this is not using the default styles i dont see why that would matter because my login works just fine in any other browser.

Well, there is obviously a difference in your login form compared to the default login form, no? And, it is something that IE does not like. The best you can really do is look at a page using the default vb code and compare it to a page using your code and see exactly what the difference is in the form and action.

Marco van Herwaarden 04-18-2008 10:16 AM

It takes 5 seconds to create a fresh style. Another minute to test if the problem also exists on the new style. Why you don't just follow the suggestions and try it. The result from this test will make it probably clear where the problem is.

Like it is now, you are expecting others to solve your problems but don't want to take any advise or do any testing.
