yes every thing is correct if not it would not install

What is happening exactly? How far into the upgrade process are you getting?

complete install but it makes a mirror image of my test site

Lynne 03-21-2008 02:08 AM

Did you check your site settings in vboptions > Site Name/URL and make sure it is pointing to your real site, not your test site? And the config.php file is different on your real site vs your test site (the database name, etc)?

yes it does show everything on my jeep site all the forums and post and members are gone

Lynne 03-21-2008 02:12 AM

If all that stuff is gone, then it sounds like you are pointing to your test site database instead of to your real database. And upgrade cannot just erase all your data. But, if you simply copied the config.php file from your test site to your real site, it will have the wrong database name in it. It will have the test site database name. You need to change that to your real site database name and then do the upgrade.

Yes, you can use ImpEx. But ImpEx doesn't work with 3.7, yet.

Did you happen to run the install script by mistake? As only the install script creates the default "Main Forum".

Are you sure you have set up the user settings to MySQL properly in config.php? Have you checked the table prefixes? Have you check the other MySQL-related settings?
