changing url
 

hey guys the URL of my original site is www.projekt-black.net

and the URL of my located vBulletin board is www.projekt-black.net/vBulletin

i want to change the URL of my vBulletin board to the URL of my original one. how can i do this?

vbulletin options --> url settings

yea i tried that but when i changed it, it did nothing. it still stayed the same.

You will need to move all of your files to the root as well, then change that setting above.

thanks bud, so wherever my root folder is, i move all my folders and files there, delete the old one and then im set?

You can login via ftp and move the /forum folder to the public_html directory... no need to delete anything.. just move them.

I just looked at your site and you are running phpbb in your root at the moment... you will need to remove or move this first so you don't have a conflict.

ok but i have a question. the link that redirects people for the forgot your password: click here link was working perfectly but now when someone tried to do that, it gave them a 404 page not found. any reason as to why this happened or how i can fix this?

Make sure and change the location of your "forum" in the settings and also the url in the settings too. Once you correct those it will work fine.

once ive used impex do i need to have it in my server? or can i ddelete it?

Once you are done using it, it's best to remove it completely :)

uhm also i just got everything setup in my server so now its www.projekt-black.net that is my URL but whehn i sign in to my accnt, it says ok now re-directing but then it goes back to the screen and im still a guest. i have no clue wut the problem is here. do i need to set any permissions via ftp?

Clear your cookies and or close your browser and try again.. I just signed up and it works perfect. :)

make sure to use the www.sitehere.com

but it wont let me sign in though. like i just signed in but then it sent me back to being a guest and i cant do anything. and wuts that link for?

and i wish i could respond to the shout but jeeze it wont let me sign in!! it keeps reverting me back to a guest even when it says succesful login!!!

hahaha i overrided it by clicking remember me. hahaha cuz then it had no choice but to continue remembering me so it couldnt kick me out! woot!!
