Shawn Yue, I don't have an answer to either of your questions.

I also don't have a lot of tolerance for people that don't understand how someone with limited English abilities might be able to use the search function. I've always felt that if you don't have a positive response to a question, don't bother answering.

Not sure if there is a modification for this, but if you don't find one then:

1. Create a new usergroup with the same permissions as the "Registered Users" usergroup, (we'll call this say 'Full Users' for this example)
2. Move all users currently in the "Registered Users" Usergroup to the "Full Users" Usergroup
3. Alter the permissions for the "Registered Users" Usergroup so that they only have permission to create threads & posts (and possibly not reply to other threads) in your introduction forum.
4. Create a Usergroup Promotion to promote users from "Registered Users" to "Full Users" when they have created a post. (Set Posts to 1)

Try Googling for "GIMP", it may be a decent alternative, though I have used it myself.

Shawn, I cannot find a hack to force users to make a post in a particular forum before they can post elsewhere. I believe you can do this by using your usergroups. If you want instructions for that, I can write them out, but it will require you to 1) make a new usergroup 2) make different forum permissions for these usergroups and 3) setup a promotion to move the users from one usergroup to the other.

Osperty made a good suggestion for a photoshop alternative.

Or U Can Use Force Readers Hack..and Have All Ur Registerd Member Come To That Section Read What U Have To Say So They Can Introduce Themselves..and Than Make Ur Promotoion So That After First Post They Will Be Promoted To Ur Newbie Section Having Access To Whatever U Choose

hmmm not a recommended move....why dont you just put the user into the Administration group.

Anyway. go to Admin CP > Usergroups > Usergroup Manager > Administrator Permissions and set them so they get access.

As I said before, the vbulletin manual has all these answers.

Users > Search for Users ... type in the person's user name..press enter

click on the name .... then click the drop down and choose Edit Administrator Permissions...set your settings...done.
