I LOVED THIS Style when I was using 3.6! THANKS!

Boofo 03-14-2008 03:34 AM

This only works with the postbit_legacy right?

evenmonkeys 03-14-2008 03:52 AM

It was never specifically designed for the regular postbit.

valdet 03-14-2008 04:03 AM

Wow one of the best styles just got updated. Thanks so much friend?

*Installed*

Probably. If you can give me a couple days, I can add it in. Been insanely busy with work and preparing a friend's wedding recently so I won't be home much. I just had a lot of free time last night so I finally did it. I apologize for the long wait.

Be sure to let me know what's missing. I'm not too entirely up to date with the new images and whatnot throughout the new version of vBulletin. So just send me PMs or reply if I'm missing anything. Included features only, please. No modifications.

thanks bro

evenmonkeys 04-11-2008 02:02 PM

The style should be working just fine in both the postbit and postbit_legacy settings. Shouldn't necessarily need to update anything.

KURTZ 04-11-2008 03:39 PM

installed thx

cheesegrits 04-18-2008 12:34 AM

Yarub,

Thanks for keeping Kirsch alive. I've been a happy Kirsch user since 3.5, and am very glad you continue to put in the time and effort to keep it updated.

A couple of small XHTML issues, not serious, but they do cause validation errors (using the standard W3 Validator):

In 'header', the ...

HTML Code:

<td align="top">
... needs to be ...

HTML Code:

<td valign="top">
And in 'footer', the ...

HTML Code:

</td>
</tr>
</table>

... that terminates the main content table opened in 'header' needs to be moved down to the bottom of the template, otherwise it causes 'unterminated tag' issues with the footer form and table.

EDIT - turns out that making the above change, although the page then passes XHTML validation, it breaks the user profile tabs in IE. Works fine in FF. Wanting the best of both worlds, I just removed that surrounding td entirely, and terminated the table in the header instead, like the default vB template. Tabs work, page looks the same, passes validation.

Oh, and a few of missing images from the new 3.7 Profile pages:

buttons/collapse_generic.gif
buttons/collapse_generic_collapsed.gif
buttons/upload_pictures.png
misc/menu_open_usercss.gif
misc/unknown.gif
misc/userfield_edit.gif

Great :D

Just might want to add the tag.png to the /misc/ folder though

Cheers

Mark

King Kovifor 04-29-2008 09:07 PM

There are quite a few images missing. Mostly within /misc/ and there is one button missing for the album page. They are mostly inside of the profile. I forget which ones they are because i fixed them on my site and thought nothing of it again.

Mrdby 04-30-2008 06:53 PM

Can you be a little more specific? We can't really help alleviate your confusion without knowing what is confusing you.

There should be an option when installing a style to 'ignore version' (or some such). Select that.

If this option doesn't show for you when installing a new style, it might be one of those options you only get when in debug mode.

I'm a complete noob - just bought vBulletin. Will this style work with 3.7.1? :)

yes, it's normal cause this style has a customized footer ... you can revert it or just save the older 'as new' ... i prefer revert (obviously if this don't create any trouble) ... however make a back-up of the footer before ...

mtlcore 05-31-2008 08:46 PM

Kurtz, are you getting any security token errors with this style?

KURTZ 06-01-2008 08:27 AM

no dude :)

Got them too - just edit the "Footer" template and copy the information from the Default style.
The error happens when a new user logs in the 1st time - the profile link for Timezone correction is set in a wrong way in this style.
Just search for the "profile.php?=dst" link in the Kirsch style and replace this with the information from the Default style.
There's something within with the security token ;)

mtlcore 06-03-2008 03:39 AM

thanks angel-wings!!
