Today I was reading this thread (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...=171853&page=3) and I saw nexialys post about the ultimate vbulletin resource and thought some of the coders here should start this site. I have a license and sever space if anyone is intrested.

I was just looking around and vbulletin-resources.net is available, I think I will go with that.

Before starting a new community on a domainname that contain "vbulletin", i strongly suggest you ask permission in a support ticket first. "vBulletin" is a registered trademark.

nexialys is ALSO trademarked !!!

Marco is correct...I own vbulletin-products.com and went to deploy it in a similar fashion a few years ago and was kindly told not to by vBulletin ;)

Well, I'm out of it now. If there is going to be a paid mods area, I want no part of it, sorry. That defeats the whole purpose of the topic to me. iogames, I can see another side-switch in my future.

I think I wiold not include that now after thinking about it I don't want to get mixed up with people not paying each other

First you need to decide if the site is going to be dedicated to all of vBulletin or just the security aspect of vb. To be honest, there are already way too many "vb groupie" sites but none that I know of that are solely dedicated to the security side of things.

that might be a good one except vb-secure.com is also available and more people are going to think it's .com verse .org

anyway, anything "vb-" will be related to Visual Basic...

You could call it nex_secure.com...

A site dedicated to the security of vBulletin is kinda of...umm pointless? Isn't vBulletin extremely secure by default, so I really don't see many topics being discussed.

I have vbulletin.coms perrmission I just can't have the word vbulletin in the doamin name. I think vbsecure.com or something similer would be good. Does this sound good?

i would suggest you take suggestions for a site name in PM right now, because some moron will register all the domains you find interesting...

What the hell happened?

You guys talked the idea of "The Ultimate Resource" down to just security? Is security really that big of a deal that it needs its' own site separate from vB.com to discuss it?

See, vB.org worked because it offered what vB.com didn't. Modifications.
With security issues already being addressed and dealt with at vB.com, I don't see the point of this kind of site. At all.

And there needs to be an entire bloated vBulletin for that?? Be prepared for a failure..

Sure, sites fail all of the time, but this one actually had some potentially good ideas in the beginning.

lol if they expected anything more then failure to begin with, they've got a distorted sense of reality and whats needed anyway.
