Warhammer Online
 

I wanted to see who is in the beta test of Warhammer Online, if there are any, if you could give your experiences of the game. I want to play it but I'm afraid it will be too much like WoW. I did view the cinematic trailer and honestly, Warhammer did alot better on their's then WoW did on their cinematic trailers.

Anyway, I won't make this long, just looking for general interest or those in the closed beta.

I wouldn't mind trying it, but I know nothing of the warhammer universe (whereas I enjoy the lore of WoW) and I'm afraid my geriactric computer can barely cope with Burning Crusade 25 mans, a bit worried what it will do on Warhammer :erm:

Warhammer is a horrible, horrible joke of a game. Pretty much everything sucks in it 10x compared to WoW. I'd be surprised if the game even makes it to shelfs ever.

Wow, wasn't expecting that response FRDS. I take it you have played it?

Caerydd: I'm with you, I wouldn't mind trying it but thats about it. If it turns out to be as FRDS states, I'm gonna be upset after all the advertising and all the excitement caused got me wanting to play it.

played it for about 24 hours total playtime on my friends account, I'll see if he can get some more private invites and i'll send to you guys.

A lot of the mass hysteria for the game is because WoW pretty much the same ole song and dance, lvl, farm gold, maybe raid, play some PvP, repeat. Once every couple years, they'll raise the level cap to allow for growth, and alot of people are tired of playing it, and just looking for something new.

I just don't think Warhammer will be it :D

waiting for beta keys since 2006 no luck

Took me a while to see this, found it looking for WAR guilds using vB. My guild got into the very early alpha and we're now split-playing between WoW and WAR. In WoW we're 2 into Sunwell, yet we'll likely migrate mostly to WAR when it comes out - personally I like the PvP/RvR and some aspects of PvE simply better. The gear system penalizes people who just collect gear over those who actually learn to play their classes, the loot system excludes children who get all drooly if something "purple" drops, and the careers are just more fun.

That's my $0.02

Definately makes me want to play even more Thodt.

Anyone else play 40k?

I'll try Warhammer Online. I try most of them. Very few get me past the trial period.

I have to say though that an MMO is all about the people that you meet. I still play WoW because there is a group of people that are always there and we are able to do things together and shoot the breeze on ventrilo. Without having online friends and sitting in some looking for group channel all day, things get boring very fast. I don't usually PvP in these games because dealing with those of the prepubescent mindset is very aggravating and not something that I want to deal with. I do wish that more people acted maturely when PvPing but it always seems to bring out the horse's ass in people.

Wayne: I want to try Warhammer but guess I have to wait and see if they do a trial period for the game. Getting beta is showing almost impossible.

I agree with you though, I only play WoW now because my wife is now 70 plus we have a semi large group and we are starting Kara now so soon we will be getting epics. We all hate the LFG channel or even the interface, barely anyone uses it for whats its supposed to be used for now. It sucks sooo bad. PvPing brings out more than horse's ass in people, its bring out their big heads. LOL

That said, I think WAR looks too much like WoW for my tastes (graphics). I've been playing AoC and it's been fun, although it has serious issues as it's a new MMO.

When Blizzard started making the first Warcraft, they tried to tie it into the Warhammer line. The graphics were centered around their vision of that game. Their attempts to get official licensing were rebuffed at the time. So they tweaked it a little, changed the storyline slightly and renamed it. That is why there is a lot of similarity to this day. When Warcraft II came along they changed the entire story and started fleshing things out so that the backstory was a lot different but the graphics style has stayed to this day.

OK guys, i've some good news ... :D

i know a friend that can have many beta keys for the italian beta of WAR ... right now i need to know if the client is italian or english ... the only restriction is that we must play onto an italian server ...

if anyone is interested post here and maybe i can give you the key ... ;)

Sharing/trading Beta Keys is against the rules of the beta program. This makes offering beta keys illegal, and thus not allowed on vBulletin.org.

Closing thread.

Can't you just delete the posts that are going against the rules? I'd just think it would be better, otherwise it is spoiled for everyone.
