This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

My members and myself get this message on dozens of games. Its rather annoying and hopefully there is a way to override this problem.

"This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved."

I cannot duplicate exactly *when* it happens, but it seems it happens when you beat the high score perhaps more than once per day. I could be wrong, but either way I'd like to override this.

I'm not using any portal at all. My site is Talk Jesus Forums / www.talkjesus.com

RvG2 02-29-2008 06:07 AM

help also please... I can't stay only with 8 games in my board.

scoota33 03-06-2008 07:11 PM

Here are the general guidelines i use to prevent this error 99% of the time on my board.

1. increase your session timeouts in vbulletin settings (around 30 mins is good unless a game takes longer to play)
2. make sure holdsession.php is uploaded and in the right place.
3. inform your members to use the remember me box when they log in
4. inform your members not to use the refresh or back buttons in their browser to start a new game.
5. inform your members to only play 1 game at a time

i used to get nothing but complaints of the same error, but since following these guidelines the error has all but disappeared.

peterpigman 03-06-2008 08:39 PM

Being honest when I was using shared hosting this happened quite a lot when the server load went up. Tried a lot of things to fix it but once I went dedicated it has stopped. It may just be something you have to live with until you get a better server.

doogie88 03-07-2008 08:37 PM

I have found the 'remember me' was the reason.

cleric 03-10-2008 10:39 PM

My session limit is up to "9000" which im sure 150 minutes is long enough yet i still get this error, and my forum isn't exactly active!!

hotdude_55 03-14-2008 03:37 AM

i have the problem
This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

I followed all steps doesn't work

Any help ??

KingAdora 04-10-2008 01:52 PM

Me too :(

Hornstar 04-11-2008 11:10 PM

yeah me too. Remember me is checked. I am on a dedicated server with low server load. The game only went for 160 seconds. not long enough to be a problem either way. And I get This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

Why?

My members are starting to wish I was on v3arcade still :/

CompuJonathan 04-13-2008 05:20 AM

I tried to sign up for an account at your website to make sure - but not only do you require email validation but also manual account verification - didn't want to wait to confirm.

But if you are using vbSEO - make sure you have it disabled in your arcade. We found that having rewrite rules in the arcade would mess with the arcade scores system.

Just a suggestion!

- Compu

MrZeropage 04-14-2008 06:38 PM

for closed information about the reason, open /arcade.php and set $DEBUGMODE to 2

after this, the errormessage has extended information to be posted here :)

Hornstar 04-15-2008 08:35 AM

This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

Error #001 -> vs_gid=198 | cookie_gid= | gameid=198

This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

Error #001 -> vs_gid=195 | cookie_gid= | gameid=195

Hornstar 04-17-2008 09:15 AM

and this error:

This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

Error #001 -> vs_gid=101 | cookie_gid= | gameid=101

So it is happening with quite a few games but not all.

droid101 04-21-2008 07:14 PM

I've been getting some complaints about this recently. I can't duplicate it.

I'll try the fives steps listed in post 3, but I've done three of those things already and I'm still getting these complaints.

Hornstar 04-27-2008 03:05 AM

yeah im getting daily complaints still. and word when a fix will be available?

wizzzzzzzz 04-27-2008 12:12 PM

I had the same error and now I have not this problem anymore I did this, I will try to explain how, my english is not very well.

When I got to my forum the url in the browser is http://www.myforum.com for example, when I got in the arcade the www was not there, so I go to my acp/options/Sitename URL Contact Details... and there I set for my forum url and url homepage www.mysite.com.

So far this is working for me... score setting is going very well now..

CBTS Pennywise1 04-28-2008 03:38 PM

I have the same problem has everybody else I'm going to try some of these options, I'll edit in a bit.

Edit I have tried all of these things and still get the same errors on some of my games.

Gimmick 04-29-2008 01:59 PM

Im gettting this too, very intermittent. Thought it was only with new games, but it appears its with all games intermittently, Have not tried any of the fixes about, but I will now. And report.

I read somewhere this has been fixed in 2.6.7 ? Is that out yet? Trawling google I foung that but could be dreaming!!

MrZeropage 04-30-2008 07:59 PM

I already did some improvements for 2.6.7+ but need exact details about your problems.

Everybody expecting this error, please enable the debug-mode for extended information and post the resulting errorcodes here, thanks.

to enable debug-mode, please open /arcade.php and set $DEBUGMODE to value 2 (right at the beginning of the script)

thanks

CBTS Pennywise1 05-01-2008 01:35 AM

A friend of mine fixed it for me. Not sure what he did but he said he had the same problem and gave me his arcade index file or something.

Hornstar 05-01-2008 06:15 AM

another error:

This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

Error #011 -> gid=243|ui[a_sess_gid]=243|g[gid]=1020|vs[mid]=1|vs[gname]=ifpigscanflyXec|gamename=hopnbop

MrZeropage 05-01-2008 09:31 AM

@CBTS Pennywise1:
could you send me your files so I can compare what was done ? Contact me via PM, thanks...

@hornstar1337:
seems like you started two games, maybe using browser-tabs ?

tintructo 05-01-2008 05:22 PM

some of my users are having the same problem

Error #001 -> vs_gid=120 | cookie_gid=120 | gameid=150

Error #001 -> vs_gid=120 | cookie_gid=120 | gameid=112

=(!

MrZeropage 05-01-2008 07:09 PM

you have v2.6.6+ ?

this means the gamesession and the cookie both have the same game, but the result comes from another game... maybe playing more than one game in browser-tabs ?

samu2 05-01-2008 07:28 PM

All the new games I have added recently will not save scores. I get no error messages, it just doesn't save them.

I just upgraded to 3.7.0 and was wondering if I need to upgrade the arcade or something?

I am using v2.6.6+ which I added when I was running VB 3.6.10

yup, I installed 2.6.6+ yesterday and migrated from v3arcade, so far "I" didn't had any problem with the scores, but a few users had...i'm going to tell them a list of thing they should do to avoid this and I will let you know

edit :

after telling to my users the thing they needed to do to avoid this problem, one of them got this :

Error #011 -> gid=150|ui[a_sess_gid]=150|g[gid]=161|vs[mid]=39|vs[gname]=maeda|gamename=throwme

that error means he opened 2 games at the same time ? (maeda and throwme)

MrZeropage 05-02-2008 05:24 AM

make sure players do only play one game after another, not using browser-tabs or something like that ...

trick2008 05-03-2008 01:19 AM

Error #001 -> vs_gid=178 | cookie_gid= | gameid=178

MrZeropage 05-04-2008 10:46 AM

@trick2008:
gamesession was not properly initiated and stored, does this happen at any time ?

@d2sector:
this is an old v3arcade-game which seem to have a problem with storing its game-id in cookie... maybe some cookie-blocker is active?

Hornstar 05-04-2008 10:42 PM

I still get errors even if opening up only one window using no tabs.

Anyway, lets say for some of the games it is a tab problem, cant it be fixed? because it never did that in v3arcade.

This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

Error #010

nyqnzguju 05-05-2008 06:31 PM
