Display Google search box in footer

A very simple mod to display a Google search box in the footer without editing templates.

Install the product then go get your search code from Google. Then goto vbulletin settings and paste the code into the code field and enable it. Done.

30/4-08: Confirmed working with 3.7.0 Gold.

Google gives you the HTML to add to your website to do this...

If you go to Google.com, they'll give you the HTML to add this to any part of your website, and the way I have it setup is to where I get money for each time someone does a Google search.

Not compatible with 3.7 beta 4. Only beta 5.

If you really need this to put the code in your footer :roll:Open the product

Code:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="3.7.0 beta 5" maxversion="" />
Change to
Code:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="vBulletin Version Here" maxversion="" />
and of course just replace your vBUlletin version where it says.

That is correct. Th eonly thing thid mod do is give you a posibility to enter the google code through the admin panel without editing any templates making it easier to upgrade.

Correct that is also stated in the post. beta 5 is not available in the dropdown box otherwise I would have choosen that. But it probably works in beta 4 I have just not tested it for that.

You seem to not see the point that with this mod you do NOT need to edit any templates manually. You just enter the google search html via the admin cp. This means no template edits which means nothing is lost if a template has to be reverted when upgrading. A big advantage in my opinion.

But yes you are absolutely right Google provides the html. In fact the html Google provides is required for this mod to work.

More precisely, where should I ask for the html / whom should I contact? On www.google.com I didn't actually find any contact details. Can you, please help me with that? Since I use Google all the time, it would be really helpful to be able to search directly from the forum. Is there any e=mail address where I should write, or smth?

Thank you!
