WYSIWIG Text Editor enable to Admin only
Hi
I am new to VB and having an issue with WYSIWYG Text Editor, I have enabled WYSIWIG Text Editor from ACP and when I am logged in as Admin I can view full WYSIWIG Text Editor for postings new thread but when I am logged in as Moderator or registered user in the Message window I can only see plain message window without WYSIWIG Text Editor. Any one please help me what I am doing wrong and what option need to check in order to make WYSIWIG Text Editor work for every one. |
You can either enable WYSIWYG within Options of your User CP (Edit Options) and scroll to the bottom and select Enhanced Interface instead of Standard
OR if you want everybody to use it by default upon registration, go to AdminCP -> vBUlletin Options -> User Registration Options -> Default Registration Options -> Message Editor Interface -> Show Enhanced [...] |
Erm i think this is it ..
Admin CP > Vbulletin Options > Default Registration Options Message Editor Interface <- change these |
MadK & eclipse11, thank you both for guiding me to enable WYSIWYG Text Editor I did enable it after reading your reply from dminCP -> vBUlletin Options -> User Registration Options -> Default Registration Options -> Message Editor Interface -> Show Enhanced [...] however it did not change to already registered members and then I checked under UCP and edit to enhanced WYSIWYG Text Editor and now I am able to view the WYSIWYG Text Editor for postings but how to enabled it to already registered members by default without every one going to UCP and choosing edit options.
MadK & eclipse11 I really appreciate and thanks for responding quickly you guys rocks:up: |

Hi there,
After setting the default editor to WYSIWYG (under Admin CP > Vbulletin Options > Default Registration Options / Message Editor Interface) and running the SQL query as well to update existing users it still doesn't work :( I always get the simple editor - even as Administrator. Looking up the user settings, there IS the right(!) setting (WYSIWYG). I tried it with existing and new users and on several browsers. NB: It works fine with another forum of mine (different URL and different database) - so maybe something is corrupt? Since the first forum (only one language) works fine, could the issue caused by this approach: I've imported the style (xml) from the other forum and uploaded an italian language pack for the forum described above. Has anyone a clue??? I need a workaround urgently ... Thanks, Selter Edit: PROBLEM SOLVED Obviously there is a need to enable "BB Code", "Smilies", "BB Images" etc. for each forum in the AdminCP / Forum&Moderation Now it works :) |
