FlashChat: Admin Panel Integration

Hack Support

This hack is now discontinued - this means that while it will remain available for download and use, there will be no further updates, nor will support be provided as the thread is no longer monitored.

Please click Mark as Installed if you are using this hack.

vBulletin Version Compatibility

This hack can only be used with vBulletin v3.7.x.

What Does This Hack Do?

It is a update of my v3.6.x hack available here, with a couple of small changes.

This hack allows you to integrate the FlashChat Admin Panel into your vBulletin Admin Control Panel, so all administration is done in one place (you can even optionally remove FlashChat's own nav links - see the screenshots for comparison).

Now comes with Administrator Permissions, so you can limit which administrators you want to admin Flashchat via the AdminCP.

Note: Version 3.7.006 of this hack and above are for FlashChat 5.0.x onwards only, and will not work with FlashChat 4.7.x. Version 3.7.005 of this hack will continue to be available for Flashchat 4 (but I will not be coding any further releases for FlashChat 4 versions).

What hacks need installing before installing this hack?
These hacks need to be installed in this order and working correctly, for this hack to work.
  1. FlashChat v4.7.x or v5.x.x
  2. Paul M's Flashchat: Integration for vB 3.7 v3.7.005 (Flashchat v4.7.x only) or v3.7.009 (Flashchat v5.x.x only)
  3. Then install the correct version of this hack (see versions below)

Installation Instructions

Download either of the below files, depending on your installed FlashChat version:
  • ms_fc_admincp_fc5_v3.7.006.zip for Flashchat v5.x.x only
  • ms_fc_admincp_fc4_v3.7.005.zip for Flashchat v4.7.x only
The installation instructions are included in attached zip files.

Uninstall Instructions
  1. Delete cpnav_flashchat.xml from your <forum root>/includes/xml directory.
  2. Delete bitfield_fc_admincp.xml from your <forum root>/includes/xml directory.
  3. If uploaded: Delete the top.tpl file from your <forum root>/chat-folder-name-here/templates/admin directory. Re-instate the original version of top.tpl.
  4. Uninstall the product in vB using the AdminCP Product Manager.

Followed your directions but got this error message:

Running VB 3.7.0b4
Downloaded the latest required modification
Then went to install your modification.

Code:

The product paulm_wic_37 must be installed before this product may be installed. (Compatible starting with 3.7.001 / Incompatible with 3.7.999 and greater)

You are right, I included the incorrect dependency. I have fixed and re-uploaded the zip.

This one should give you no problems. Thanks for pointing it out :)

Hostboard 02-09-2008 01:48 AM

Ok, that problem fixed. Next I set a password for a chat room. Enter the room it asks for the password. Just click enter, it says invalid. Click ok and it lets you enter.

Also in the ACP under messages, click on clear filter and none of the messages get cleared.

1. The password thing is a not a problem with the integration, this hack does not actually do anything with the actual Flashchat Admin Panel apart from display it in vBulletin's ACP. You will need to ask on the official Flashchat forums about this - http://forum.tufat.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5

2. It is a filter (ie if you want to show all the messages by Hostboard), it does not delete any of the messages, it just remove the filter that you have applied to the messages log.

I believe I installed everything correctly but when I actually go into the admin panel of the flash chat, it simply says:

Page not found

Boofo 02-17-2008 05:39 AM

Works perfectly for me, sir. Thank you. ;)

Mario.D 02-17-2008 06:59 AM

Thanks, its working fine for me.

tldagent 02-24-2008 02:14 PM

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall and keep getting the same error: page not found

When I mouse over the links within the FlashChat admin Panel, I see it as:
Code:

http://www.website/forum/admincp/..{$vbulletin->options[flashchat_path]}/chat/admin/roomlist.php?
The above is the actual link. I've checked my VB options and cannot find a path problem. I'm thinking this is a simple path problem somewhere along the line.

Aside from the admin panel, everything else works splendid. The chat shows up and works and the links placed on either the navigation bar or the quicklinks leads directly to the chat. I have Vbadvanced installed but not yet implemented all the way.

Thank you in advance for any assistance with this.

Information:
- Vbulletin 3.7.0 Beta 5
- Vbseo 3.1.0
- VBadvanced 3.0.0 Gold - Not implemented

tldagent 02-24-2008 09:51 PM

Please anyone? Spent a bit of time searching and came up empty.

Paul M 02-24-2008 10:53 PM

Mosh already offered to help you (post #8)

tldagent 02-24-2008 11:02 PM

Yeah, and I pmed and haven't heard anything. If anyone else can offer any suggestions here, it would help out in the future when others run across the same issue.

I can access the admin in flashchat directly but it says something about integrated with cms. Currently the chat on my forum is off and excited to get it going. We're going to have scheduled chats. Forum URL: PhilosophyForum.com. Recently re-done.

Sorry about that, been busy signing up to university, so have not had time to look at this. But looking at what you PM'ed me, I can see that you did not provide an admin user account and ftp access details, which is what I would have need to login and help you.

A url to the forum is not going to help me help you, as when you install this you have to be an admin, and to be honest I am not going to go through the registration process and still not be able to help you out as I need admin permissions.

But before that, I have one question, have you installed Paul M's Flashchat: Integration for vB 3.7? As the the link you posted when hovering your mouse point would indicate that you do not (or have and it is not installed properly):

Code:

http://www.website/forum/admincp/..{$vbulletin->options[flashchat_path]}/chat/admin/roomlist.php?
It is looking for an option that would have been added when you installed Paul M's hack, there is a list of hacks that need to be installed listed in the first post of this thread that have to be installed before this will work.

[s]If all hacks needed are installed and working, and this hack still does not work and you want me to log in and sort it out for you then I require you PM me what I original asked for, which is, an admin user account (with appropriate permissions) and ftp access details, you can revoke these after I have helped you out.[/s]

tldagent 02-25-2008 03:00 PM

Double checked, looks like everything is installed correctly. I'll forward you the requested information. Thank you for all your assistance! I also understand being busy and not being busy... Best wishes to you and your studies in the University.

Replied to your PM, am off to University this morning, so will look at it in about 12 hours or so, will PM you once I am done :)

Mosh 02-26-2008 06:15 AM

Released v 3.1.0 - This should hopefully fix the problem that some people including tldagent are having.

Hostboard 02-26-2008 02:41 PM

Previous version was able to view screens. Now when I click on ANY option (Bans, Rooms, etc) it all comes back as 404 page not found.

Seems the URL is wrong...

http://www.mydomain/forums//admin/msglist.php?

Mosh 02-26-2008 07:31 PM

Released v 3.2.0 - This will fix the problem that some people including tldagent and Hostboard are having.

Previous version, I did not realise was still dependent on an option in Paul M's Flashchat: Who is chatting hack, so when I removed the hack I got the same issue as both tldagent and Hostboard. So, now it should be totally fixed.

Boofo 02-26-2008 08:08 PM

Do I need to upgrade to this, buddy? ;)

Only if you are having issues, which you are not, and it does not add anything, just fixes the issue some people are having :)

Boofo 02-26-2008 08:41 PM

Sounds good to me, sir. ;)

We got to the bottom of tldagent's issue, it seems that vBSEO was causing the issue. Once he disabled it and re-enabled it, it fixed his issue.

So, tldagent is now a happy chap :)

tldagent 02-26-2008 10:26 PM

Yes, thank you. I believe however I've discovered a bit more. With VBSEO on, and both admins set up as Administrators, the first admin can see the actual flashchat admin and follow the links correctly. I was logged in as the second admin which has the same privileges as the first but cannot follow the links. It returns Page not found. The url also looks different in the mouse-over as well.

When logged in as first admin it looks like:
HTML Code:

http://www.site.com/forum/chat/admin/msglist.php?
As second admin the url is:
HTML Code:

http://www.site.com/forum/{$vbphrase[flashchat_path]}/admin/msglist.php?
So, honest I cannot explain the issue or how it works... or why both aren't seeing the same URLs. I just know that if logged on as #1 Administrator it works.

Thank you Mosh for your time and patience.

I will see if I can replicate that without vBSEO, so I am now off to create another admin.....

Will report back soon.

Btw, does it work for both admins if vBSEO is turned off?

Mosh 02-26-2008 10:40 PM

I'm back, now for some silly reason the hack appears to only works if the admin is set to be Super Admin (ie added as super admin in config.php), and seems to have nothing to do with vBSEO.

In <forum root>/includes/config.php:
Code:

$config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = 'x,y';
tldagent, can you test this for me please? I need it checked somewhere else apart from my testbed.

Mosh 02-26-2008 11:49 PM

Released v3.3.0 - I fixed the super admin bug, I introduced it when I released this hack and did not know it, until today.

So, people who have installed this, the name of their flashchat folder is chat and are having no problems need not upgrade to this version.

People who are having problems need to upgrade to this version.

tldagent and Hostboard, please let me know if this fixes both of your problems now.

Hostboard 02-27-2008 02:40 AM

Fixed :)

Thank you!

tldagent 02-27-2008 02:43 AM

yes that fixed it. Fixed the issue. Just replace the x,y with your user number or numbers.

Thanks for the fix!

No need for the editing of the config.php file, if you only want 1 super admin, then leave it as it is. All you need to do is install the latest version of this hack and it will fix the issue :)

Not working for me.

I followed the instructions and i have the '{$vbphrase[flashchat_path]}' issue, and the

'Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';' in .../admincp/index.php(407) : eval()'d code on line 3'

in my admincp index.

I upgraded my Flashchat Integration, I uninstalled the previous FlashChat Admin and i installed the new one. Some help! Thanks

I can not help you unless I look at your installation, as over 100 sites are using the same code without an issue and that should not cause a problem.

[s]If you want me to take a look then feel free to PM me your site address, a temp admin user (with admin permissions - Can Administer Settings for editing options, Can Administer Language Settings for editing phrases and Can Administer Plugins for editing products and plugins), and ftp access details, without these I can not help you. I will look when I have time, and even if I have a look, I can not guarantee that I will be able to fix it, if your site is not in English (I only read/write in English), so it is up to you what you want to do. You can revoke these after I have helped you out.[/s]

msolano 05-08-2008 04:09 AM

Hello: well, tonight I was reading your reply (thank you for do that!!) and my eyes was focused on the phrase: 'if your site is not in English (I only read/write in English)'.

On the php code you have:
"foreach ($navigation['19']['FlashChat Admin Panel']['options']['0'] AS $"

My forum isn't an english forum and I take care to translate every phrase, but the phrases of this product had a strange status (I didnĀ“t found them on Control Panel Global) and all of them were in spanish (they weren't traslated, the spanish text was on the default text).
So, I didn't have that "FlashChat Admin Panel" in my phrases.

The solution: I deleted the phrases manually (from phpMyAdmin) and installed the product.

Now it works fine. Again, thanks for your time!

Cool that it is working :)

If you need to translate to your phases, then you will need to alter these phrases under Control Panel Global:

Code:

flashchat_admincp
flashchat_bans
flashchat_bots
flashchat_connections
flashchat_ignores
flashchat_messages
flashchat_rooms

If you want to post a translated version here, then feel free to attach to a post in this thread and I will reference it in the 1st post :)
