thread starter can delete posts in his OWN threads
 

i need a mod where the thread starter will have the ability to delete ( but not edit) posts in his OWN threads similar to can close own threads. I want to it be usergroup specific and posts of mods/supermods/admins can never be deleted.

search in your member goubs and choose that option to let them do that <<<

Theres settings enabling them to delete own threads, tags in own thread and own posts, but not other users posts in their own threads.

You can Do this from your admin CP

We really need this mod, it´s not possible from the admincp to do that.

I had sheppardzwc make this mod for me for vBulletin 3.8. I had to pay for it but it can be done. If you're interested in purchasing it you can PM him, we called it "Troll Control."

It's pretty much exactly how the OP described it... thread starters can soft-delete (not edit) posts in their own threads, but you can specify immune usergroups whose posts can't be deleted.

I couldn't find anything under 'Troll Control' for vbulletin anywhere, but i like the name.

It was exactly 3 hours from now that i hit the wall and started looking for a similar tool.

For any community oriented forum, this feature is pretty much essential to deal with the spam/troll or out of context reply.

Would be great if you release the mod :) as you said this is an essencially feature for some community's.

I had someone also create this modification, it was sub-contracted out as I'm swamped atm however it was a remake of the threadmin 3.5 series mod here although the code is different due to 4.x and well different. I'm awaiting a re-write for the client as they had some requested changes, I'll pass along this post along to the author and he may consider releasing once finalized, we'll see :D.
