Anyone Please ? |
I am not a template (HTML) developer at all, so i might be wrong, but it seems you set a fixed width in your template.
In the template you have posted in post #3, you have the following line: HTML Code:
<td class="alt2" width="175" style="border: $stylevar[cellspacing]px solid $stylevar[tborder_bgcolor]; border-top: 0px; border-bottom: 0px"> PS Your template does not look like a default template at all. Which vBulletin version are you using? |
3-6-8 With a skin...
I tryed changing that code "width="175" and all it did was make the whole lot smaller, not just the postbit section :( |
i did say it but i edited it i will leave it up for only like 5 mins
go to admin cp then vbulletin options then styles and lanuguages find Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template and choose yes (thinks to my self pfft n00b's) |

You are giving instructions on how to change from using 'postbit' to 'postbit_legacy'. If you read this thread (and view the screenshots) then you will see he is already using postbit legacy (he even said so in his first post). |

Does the misalignment occur on every postbit page (with multiple posts) or does it happen on a few? If a few, the cause might have to do with a specific Username block; something in that block is stretching it.
I may have missed it but is your style in a fixed or fluid width setting? Also, is it possible to post a link to your site and if you could please link to that specific thread. :) |
I believe it's a default 3.6.8 template.
What browser are you using? Firefox? It's either a missing image (in Firefox a missing image will not display but it's placement may still exist) .. or it's something defined in your CSS. It could be a number of things really. As suggested, post the URL to the site. If you did - this would have been resolved already. |
I just compared his postbit with a standard vb postbit (or rather, postbit_legacy) and there are only very minor changes.
If you fill the text area in with long sentences, does this problem still occur? I'm thinking it is because the table is defined as 100%, but only the first column width is defined (as 175), the second column is not. This allows the second column to be any width it chooses to be, especially if there is hardly anything in the column - like in your picture. |
I have just noticed this issue only happens in IE
Princeton... I cant post my site, it does have some adult content on it, this is why I have not done it... |
Then send me a PM with the link to that thread and maybe any other thread with the same problem so I can compare them.
Is the template you posted in the first page the exact template? If not, I'll need to see the template too. |

K...I made a test thread and a few suggestions to start off with. See if that helps. I'll post the changes made in this thread when we see positive results. :)

Awsome... Thank you very much Freesteyelz!!! |
It's getting there but not complete. :)
As I mentioned on yours site alignment issues will exist because of the left and right columns thoughout the site. What's occuring is postbit content is forcing the Username column to collapse even with a "nowrap" insert after width="175". As a side-effect, you'll get a horizontal scrollbar too. With smaller resolutions the content will indeed squeeze. One option is to set an overflow in messagearea column to prevent any content exceeding the column's width. However, because the layout is a 95% width setting for those who have wider screen resolutions there will be blank areas in the message column. |
