I just saw it and honestly it is OVER anticipated. It's another spin off of a blairwitch project. People running with a handy cam throughout the city and the picture just jumps everywhere.

The guys over on my site are loving it.

I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff anyway, so I can't wait to see it. :D

My, very short, review:

"It wasn't bad but like The idea behind the movie was the most awesome thing EVER Probably best IDEA in a long time but they like sat down and said "how can we make this less awesome?" and it was a giant disappointment"

Whats it even about? I read a story online about how a survivor of 9-11 was going nuts saying it was to soon for a movie? But then I saw a preview and this looked like it had nothing to do with any of that?

Care to give a brief overview of what its about?

as you can see in the previews, it's about a rave that took place in the head of Lady Liberty, and things turned squared when policemen arrived...

i loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was a bit angry at the begining because i thought it was going to be like the blair witch movie where the camera was moving all the time.
Which it was........ But its was great! Cant wait for the squeal!!!!!!!!!

Yap, peeps on my site didn't like it. I thought it was awesome. Really enjoyed it. Worth the $10 on opening weekend.

Awesome movie

I liked it also, after reading the reviews I wasn’t expecting much and was very surprised and entertained at the movie as a whole, more difficult then it seems to do those FX shots and weave together a story with that camera work, overall a very creative way to reinvent the genre.

I got exactly what I expected. I give it 3.5 stars (out of 4).

I'm sorry but Cloverfield was a total disappointment.

I've yet to see it, waiting for a friend to come into town. But I never go into a movie anymore expecting anything more than what a movie offers.

For example, I went to see rambo, I expected things to die and be shot up, I got that. It was a good movie for what it was.

Go into movies with low expectations and you'll be much better off.

Rambo was an awesome "Shoot people dead" movie.

Cloverfield was a terrible monster movie.

I wanted to see this movie so bad so my husband took me to see if for my birthday. It was a total disappointment and it made me so sick to my stomach that I couldn't finish the movie. I honestly think they could have made this movie differently so that the camera wasn't moving so much, then I think it would have been an awesome movie but how it is, it just SUCKED!!!!

It's a lot like Blair Witch, people either love it or hate it, so it seems.

They are coming out with another clover field movie and it's been confirmed. When they were on the bridge and they said "Hey look that guy is filming too" well they are making another clover field from that guys prospective. Pretty neat huh?

I've heard this from many sources.

Personally, I thought the film was a load of garbage. So much so - I didn't even bother watching it all and turned it off. And I actually really like Sci-Fi type movies as a whole!

As mentioned above, when comparing it to the "Blair Witch Project" (which I also thought was a load of tripe). Which was very similar in the way it was filmed (running around with a shaky cam). It is one of them movies you'll either hate or love.

I wouldn't be that harsh, but it was hyped to the point where you couldn't help but be dissapointed. I'll admit it had its ridiculous moments and the camera moving all around gave me a giant headache near the middle, but overall it was alright. Hollywood needs some "different" movies and Cloverfield did that.

I thought it sucked horribly. Maybe it was just all the hype that made my disappointment inevitable. But I even had friends who went to see it, and they all came back saying "Oh it's so awesome!". Then I finally went to see it, and I thought it was just about the worst movie I'd seen in a while. It was one of the rare times where I was having thoughts in my head of "How much longer?".

I didn't like the camera work at all. I didn't really get sick or anything, but it was still bloody annoying. A girl that I went with had to stare at the theater ceiling for half the movie because it was making her sick.
