This is good forum annoucement modification, and with this modification you can add easy modification and news with cool effects and easy management on your forum.

You can add icon on your announcement.
You can add text effect on your announcement.
You can have your own announcement style
You can add color,size,font e.t.c on your text.
Html is also available.
You can set automatically the announcement position
And much more...

Install Instructions :

1.Upload The product first and the folder "kc" upload on your Forum root ..
2. If you want to set automatically the announcement position go to
Forum home Temlates and choose the template FORUMHOME
a) In FORUMHOME find After $navbar put this :
b) In FORUMHOME find Above this code put this :
c)In FORUMHOME find After this code put this :

• If You want to have space after boxes you can edit the template with
  HTML Code:

  ---

  <br>

  ---

  or with
  HTML Code:

  ---

  <p>

  ---

  Tag

You are done now. IF you have problems please write the problems on this thread..

<br /> is xhtml valid ;)

What is the difference?
It's ok with <br> tag too.

<br> is html
<br /> is xhtml
in xhtml (which vbulletin is using) every tag needs an opening and an closing tag
some tags <br /> <img /> also can made this "short" way

And I must use xhtml tags in php codes right? or it's ok there..

Backgrounds are a bit loud but it works fine..!

Can someone advise how I ad an icon to the announcement. I think my problems is that I don't know what to add in the box indicating: "Put the Image icon of this announcement". I tried adding a URL to this box but I got no icon.

You can rid "dear $username" with the option "SHOWING USERNAME" Yes/NO You can put NO and then will be ok

I like this hack :up:

THe ability to post an anouncement in plain view for a couple days, then keep it up but move it in a less annoing postion is great.

I moved my whats going on box to a side column and put it there, works great :up:

Installed the mod. Just one question, how do you get it to work? Do you have to edit the template, and then post a new announcement and it will show up in the Index page??

Read the instructions...
After that, go to vbulletin options and find "Kc - Announcements" -> double click and you have all the options (it's easy to use)

Just enter each usergroup id # in the box designated for that

Is there a way to customize the announcement style (backgrounds)?

Would like some basic soft color backgrounds such as light blue, etc.

Nevermind....I colored over a couple of the existing images in photoshop and that works great
