FAQ:
I have installed this mod, but it will not be displayed.
It can be possible, that you are using 'postbit_legacy'. Pleace edit this template like 'postbit'.

Can you use colors, other onts, images and so on for the displayed text?
Yes.
You can enter HTML Codes in the option 'Display'. So with the right HTML Code it is possible to realisate this. ;)

I don't quite understand what this is can you explain a bit more?

entertain 01-03-2008 12:35 PM

When the author of a thread post sth in his thread, it appears "(Threadauthor)" next to the postdate.

Zaiaku 01-03-2008 01:57 PM

I was wondering what it does and couldn't get it from title or the screenshot. So when the Threadstart replies to his own thread it shows up in the other post so that others know s/he started this thread. Great mod sites. Maybe this may be useful for me later on. I'll keep an eye on it for a while.

jluerken 01-03-2008 06:41 PM

Nice thing.
Can you add a line to enter a IMG SRC link?
I would like to see text OR an image for the threadstarter

jluerken 01-03-2008 06:43 PM

One more to add.
The "Threadauthor" text should be a phrase, otherwise your product cannot be used on a multi language board

Hello.

You can add in the 'Display' setting the following code:
HTML Code:

<img src="http://www.yourcommunityfdasfsd.com/forum/images/picture.png">
I think, that this is the same.

but if this text is a phrase, you can not edit it any more in the settings. (i think :o)

P.S. Kannst du nicht einfach mit mir Deutsch in schreiben? :D Bzw. warum schreibst du das nicht in vbulletin-germany.org?

I did not see your post there and I don't want to switch to german cause others won't understand my questions then :D

What about adding a line for each language installed?

Example:
Board has 3 languages so three field can be entered.

I think you should go with a normal vb phrase ;)

entertain 01-03-2008 07:19 PM

yes, that's a well idea.

But i am not the best coder in creating things like this.

entertain 01-30-2008 04:03 PM

Hello guys,

I have finished the version 1.1, but until now it is only available in german.
I think, that this version will be released this weekend (here and in english).

The changes are:
- uses template hooks for making installations and updates easier.
- uses Plug-ins (3)
- all known bugs are eliminated (f. e. that you can only select one forumid)
- new setting: excluded usergroups

Version 1.11 released!

One month ago I have released the version 1.0 of this modification which was in beta stage.
Now, I hope this version is bugfree.

Here the changes from v1.0:
- uses template hooks for making installations and updates easier.
- uses Plug-ins (3)
- all known bugs are eliminated (f. e. that you can only select one forumid)
- new setting: excluded usergroups

Then, there are special thanks to Andreas who helped my to eliminate many bugs. Thank you. :)

Greetings

Can you set this up to use an image? I am using am image in my setup. I don't have the usergroup settings for it though.

entertain 01-31-2008 02:43 PM

Hello.

For an image you could add to "Displayed text" the following code:

HTML Code:

<img src="http://domainxximagexx.com/forum/images/misc/picture.png">
You also can place the template hook ($threadauthor) at the place that you want. :)

I'm totally lost on the template hooks. I was using 3.5.4 until this new version. That was added after 3.5. I'll play with it and see if I can figure that part of it out. Thank you. ;)

TCE Killa 02-03-2008 03:57 PM

Doesn't work for me, I use 3.6.8, thanks anyway.

Boofo 02-03-2008 04:20 PM

I do this with a simple template edit and it has always worked for me.

Have you done the template edit?

entertain 03-04-2008 09:02 AM

Version 1.12 released!

In the old version was a bug with the Quick Reply function in a thread.

So an update is recommended!

========================
Update from Version 1.1. and 1.11:

Only overwrite the product. ;)

I had to manually update the postbit_legacy, but works like a charm! Thank you bro

Version 1.20 released!

From version 1.12 to version 1.20 there were no bugfixes. This means, that you don't need to update this mod. ;)

But in this new version there are new highlights:

New:
- The displayed text is now next to the postcount
- now you can add a little graphic

New Settings:
- New setting: Show graphic?
- New setting: Graphic Path

Update:
Description in the attachment

Screenshots:
In the first post

It can be possible that changes in the AdminCP settings of this mod will not be shown at the same moment.
In this case you have to Update your Post Counts.
