vBulletin v3.7.0 Beta 3 stable enough?
Hey,
I was thinking about installing the new beta 3 on my forums today, yet it IS beta. Have many people installed it on running and active forums? Is it usable? Thanks in advance! |
not suggested as there may be many (small) changes between it and the final...
if you need to, at least wait for a Release Candidate |
Many people at vb.com have installed it on their live forums, even tho it's not suggested. I have installed it on mine, and it works just fine.
cheers folks :)
Got it installed on a busy live forum and runs fine :)
No problems here either.
The main thing is that you have to be prepared for a few (probably minor) bugs, and also be prepared to update a number of times as further betas/RC's are released.
im using it also. only found 2 bugs. mine is a template problem. very minor, and one skin didn't work with IE once i put 3.7 in. besides that its very nice. vb did good this time
If it's about the profiles looking bad or something, you need to revert the 'Additional CSS' section in the Style Manager.
for the final release, will it be a problem with hacks that are compatible with the 3.6 versions? with the migration process be smooth? thanks
If the beta is compatible, I don't see why the full version shouldn't be. Running quite a lot of 3.6 version mods here and even a 3.5 version one is working fine...
I'm running 3.7 beta 3 on a live site and all my mods are 3.6 mods.
Even got the 3.5 trader mod working. |
I have the beta running right now. Out of 60 mods I have only came across 2 that have had problems. I have not came across any problems that were really huge, mostly just small minor stuff.
