Forum Title
Forum Title Well, someone asked for this, and I thought it was a good idea also, so I went ahead and added it. What does this do? This will allow you to change the title that shows up per forum. Why Would I want to do this? Well, I cant really answer that. What it does do is allows you to keep the same display name for the forum on forumhome, and allows you to have something more descriptive in the title of that forum. Great for SEO. Installation: Import the Product Configuration: Go into Forum Manager, Scroll to bottom to find: Forum Title adjust to how you want. Misc: This is an update from this hack. Thats It! Please Click Install if you use!!! |

This is a nice mod.
Took me a few minutes to figure out what it does...Change the page title that search engines see and what is displayed at the top of the browser. Good job :) |
Excellent, works on VB3.7 B6. Thanks! Installed!
Had to uninstall 3.6 version first, error came out. But, we're fine now after reinstall. 3.7.1 P1 reporting for duty. :D
How was it not working on your 3.6?
I cant uninstall it. its showing database error. :(
Is thare any support for this hack at all?
Updated to fix error. Please try again.
I don't see what this does.
Please see this thread, it explains it more: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=156894
whitemike, should we update if it's been working okay for us?
Nope. Not needed if its working.
Thanks, installed but dead postbit_legacy.
This has nothing to do with postbit_legacy....
This is not working for me...
I have VB 3.72 Installed, I uninstalled older one, and got this one Installed and nothing seems to be working? |
Please try the new version. I updated the file.
Yeh thanks it works now, after re-installing this new file its working good.
Thanks. |
Not working for me at all at www.Hellboyforums.com.. I scrolled down and fill in the title click save and nothing.
You can PM me access to your AdminCP and I can take a look at it for you.
I have read the other thread, but I am still not sure why this would help. At the top with 3.7.2 it already shows the name of the forum. Why is this necessary?
It will allow you to customize what exactly you want it to say without having to change the entire forum name.
This sounds like it could be a great hack. Do you think that you can make one that allows you to change title, description, and keywords meta tags all the way down to threads.
Thanks |
very interessting. is it working with vbseo 3.3 and vb 3.8.2 ?
It should be working with both. Have not tested yet.
thanks for this hack! works great, especially when you have sub-forums that have images instead of actual names.
i was wondering if there was a way to add the option to do the same thing with the actual site name. we are wanting to add an image for the site name to appear on the pages but the title on the menu bar at the top of the screen just shows the html code. would this be possible? let me know if you need a screen shot if i am not being clear. |
